READY TO REJOICE!
Psalm 118:24 – Devotional
Psalm 118:24
“This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
For many people this is a day of celebration and relaxation. On the other hand, there are those who experience pain and suffering that seems to never end. Only you know where you find yourself between the two.
In reading Psalm 118:24, it is evident that each of us determines how we will react to the circumstances of life. Some of the most upbeat people I have ever known endure pain and suffering that causes me to ache for them. I can’t!
While I may not be able to remove the pain from another person’s life, I can make every effort to be all God allows me to be in making the way easier for them. I can do that by rejoicing with them during their good times.
To be a blessing and not a blight, it is important to walk near enough to others to be a blessing and not so close that we become a blight. Our good intentions may often cause discomfort rather than comfort. Remember it is how others view our actions that lead to rejoicing or remorse. Get ready to rejoice!
May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
