LET GOD BE EXALTED! – Psalm 57:5 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

LET GOD BE EXALTED!

Psalm 57:5 – Devotional

Psalm 57:5

“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth.

Day in and day out many people strive to push themselves to the front of whatever line they are in. It may be in the family, at work, in politics, even in the church. It is tragic that so many believers spend time exalting themselves rather than God.

How do we go about exalting God? That is a question we should be asking ourselves from early morning to the last thing at night. Our chief aim in life should be to bring honor and glory to His name.

We start this process by starting each day with the Lord. The first words we read should be for the Bible and the final words before we drift into slumber should be from that same life-giving source.

We need to always remind ourselves that the things of this earth are fading away and the things of eternity must be our primary aim. This world is like a tent in the wild that may offer temporary shelter, but it is not our home. As we exalt the name of our Lord and Savior, we allow Him to lift us above the troubles and trials of this world to catch a glimpse of the glory that awaits us!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

HIGH AND LIFTED UP! – Psalm 57:5 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

HIGH AND LIFTED UP!

Psalm 57:5 – Devotional

Psalm 57:5

“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth.

It is easy to become overcome by the sin and degradation that seems to be more and more apparent with each passing moment. I was going to say with each passing day, but the growth of wickedness is much greater than that.

As faithful followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have a choice in the way we live for our Lord. We can survive under the circumstances of life, or we can soar high and lifted up with our Savior and Lord. I CHOOSE TO SOAR!

There are two words that come to mind right now: surviving or thriving. As our Lord has called us to follow Him in all things, we have two choices. We can either throw a spiritual tantrum, or lift our banner high and go forward with assurance!

The closer we come to the moment we are lifted out of this world to be with the Lord, the more fervent we need to be for Him! We may have physical and/or mental limitations this side of paradise, but we will soon be with our Lord! What a day that will be!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

LED BY GOD! – Psalm 25:5 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

LED BY GOD!

Psalm 25:5 – Devotional

Psalm 25:5

“Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.

As a boy we used to joke about impatience. I recall a classmate saying, “I don’t have any trouble with being patient. It is the waiting that I have trouble with!”

That is a problem isn’t it? Waiting is difficult so and so we feel we must be doing something wrong. We sadly all too often barge ahead of God and take action. The problem is that it is OUR action rather than HIS action. It’s almost like we feel we need to give God a little assistance.

The Psalmist sets us straight in the matter of patience. In today’s Scripture we are told to “WAIT ON THE LORD.” That does not mean to work like crazy doing good things in order to impress the Lord. It means relaxing and trusting that He will open the door He wants us to walk through when the time is right—not before!

If you are feeling weighed down and impatient waiting for the Lord to act upon your prayer request—STOP! Do not let yourself be burdened by seeing others prosper while you suffer. Rest in the Lord! He will call you when He is ready. That takes patience!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

WE CAN TRUST GOD! – Psalm 111:7 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

WE CAN TRUST GOD!

Psalm 111:7 – Devotional

Psalm 111:7

“The works of God’s hands are truth and justice: All His precepts are sure.

Sadly we live in a world where truth is held very lightly, if at all. To hear words spoken, such as; “Did we have that in writing?” reveal the lack of integrity that is a common commodity in our society.

We know that Satan is a liar and the father of lies. We only have to read through the Book of Job to discover the diabolical nature of this fallen angel. It seems to be beyond belief that he could be so absorbed to become like God that he would give it all over and face an eternity of anguish!

All around us we can observe people who give little or no thought about their eternal destiny. It is as if they are in a car headed for a high cliff with no signs to warn of the impending disaster if we do not caution them.

God has given His Word and all of creation to bring people to the safety of His glorious kingdom. Those of us who have responded now have the task of tell as many as possible the good news of the gospel. WE CAN TRUST GOD!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
