ANGELS FROM THE REALMS OF GLORY! – Revelation 5:11-12 Devotional

ANGELS FROM THE REALMS OF GLORY!

Revelation 5:11-12 – Devotional

Revelation 5:11-12

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!’

Angels From the Realms of Glory by James Montgomery

Angels, from the realms of glory,
Wing your flight o’er all the earth;
Ye who sang creation’s story,
Now proclaim Messiah’s birth:

Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Shepherds, in the fields abiding,
Watching o’er your flocks by night,
God with man is now residing,
Yonder shines the infant light:

Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Sages, leave your contemplations,
Brighter visions beam afar;
Seek the great Desire of nations,
Ye have seen his natal star:

Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Sinners, wrung with true repentance,
Doomed for guilt to endless pains,
Justice now revokes the sentence,
Mercy calls you—break your chains:

Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Though an infant now we view him,
He shall fill his Father’s throne,
Gather all the nations to him;
Every knee shall then bow down:

Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

All creation, join in praising
God the Father, Spirit, Son,
Evermore your voices raising,
To th’eternal Three in One:

Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

CHOOSE TO BE THANKFUL! – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

CHOOSE TO BE THANKFUL!

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – Devotional

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Being thankful is not, or at least it should not be, a once-a-year thing. As members of God’s family we are to be thankful at all times. It is not our prerogative to choose when or what we will be thankful for.

In today’s Scripture, Paul admonishes the church at Thessalonica (as well as all of us) that we are to give thanks in everything. Do you frequently look as though you have been baptized in vinegar? That, my dear friend, is not being continually thankful.

Paul also encourages believers to pray continually. That brings us to another embarrassing question: How is your prayer life? Are you continually speaking to the Lord in prayer? It is a discipline that we need to pursue.

The last admonition in line with today’s theme is that the Lord expects us to thank Him in all circumstances. Chew on that while you are munching on your sumptuous dinner. What if you had little or nothing to eat? Would you still give thanks? That is exactly the Lord’s will in any and every circumstance. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

May God richly bless you by your words and actions!

PRECIOUS PROMISES! – Psalm 19:14 22:31 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

PRECIOUS PROMISES!

Psalm 19:14 – Devotional

Psalm 19:14

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Years ago I heard a minister relate a heartbreaking story. It seems that a father had promised to take his son on a fishing trip. The boy was eagerly anticipating the time when just he and his father would be alone on a lake just teeming with fish. (Such lakes are more in the area of dreams than reality)

The day of the trip had arrived and the son was eagerly packing all of his gear into the car. It was just then that the phone rang. The father went back into the house to take the call. After a few minutes the son followed his dad just in time to hear him tell the caller that he had nothing important planned for the day and would be right there.

The long awaited trip was off. Not only was there to be no fishing trip with his dad, but the dad had thought so little of it that he told the caller that he had nothing important planned for the day. The relationship between father and son was torn asunder that day and sadly was never restored.

How many promises have we broken that seemed small to us, but significant to another person? But much more important, how have we grieved the heart of God by failing to keep our promises that we made to Him?

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!

WE CAN TRUST IN GOD! – 2 Samuel 22:31 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

WE CAN TRUST IN GOD!

2 Samuel 22:31 – Devotional

2 Samuel 22:31

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in Him.

The phrase; IN GOD WE TRUST, was officially adopted as the motto of the United States back in 1956. There has always been a conflict with the motto by opponents of anything spiritual. Atheists hate the very thought of yielding to the rule of God in the life of a nation.

Regardless of what the opponents of the Lord think or say, there is a truth that can never be denied: WE CAN TRUST IN GOD! We may not be able to trust in human bureaucracy, but God can always be trusted.

When we encounter the storms of life, be they personal or national, we have the assurance that God can always be trusted. In the past individuals, families, groups, and even nations have disappointed us, but the Lord has never failed us. We have all too often failed Him, but He always remains faithful and true!

As we go forth to live our life for Christ, let us determine from the very core of our being that we will trust in the Lord with everything. Hold nothing back and cast all of our cares and concerns on Him because we know that God not only cares for us, He is far bigger than our most troublesome concerns! WE CAN TRUST IN GOD!

Blessings dear hearts walk with God today and become a blessing!
