OPEN OUR EYES LORD! – 2 Samuel 22:29 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

OPEN OUR EYES LORD!

2 Samuel 22:29 – Devotional

2 Samuel 22:29

“You are my lamp, O LORD; You shall light up my darkness.

All of us know what it is like to wake up in the middle of the night and find ourselves disoriented by the lack of visual references. It is in these moments that I find myself relating somewhat to my visually blind friends.

There have been many precious moments sitting in the darkness and pouring out my heart to the Lord. Some of these moments have been the sweetest and most intimate moments that I spend with the Lord. It seems easier for me to just keep silent and listen to His voice speaking to my soul.

In a world that is increasingly being torn asunder by the flagrant sin that is so much a fabric of society, we need the comforting presence of the Lord as we silently sit with our eyes closed and our heart open.

My prayer for the saints of God is that we will open our eyes and see a world that needs the people of God to live a life of obedient faith. It is one thing to speak of our faith, but quite another to live a consistent life of faith. Do you have your eyes open to see the world around you through the eyes of faith? Open Our Eyes Lord!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

WE CAN TRUST IN GOD! – 2 Samuel 22:31 Devotional

WE CAN TRUST IN GOD!

2 Samuel 22:31 – Devotional

2 Samuel 22:31

“As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in Him.”

The phrase; IN GOD WE TRUST, was officially adopted as the motto of the United States back in 1956. There has always been a conflict with the motto by opponents of anything spiritual. Atheists hate the very thought of yielding to the rule of God in the life of a nation.

Regardless of what the opponents of the Lord think or say, there is a truth that can never be denied: WE CAN TRUST IN GOD! We may not be able to trust in human bureaucracy, but God can always be trusted.

When we encounter the storms of life, be they personal or national, we have the assurance that God can always be trusted. In the past individuals, families, groups, and even nations have disappointed us, but the Lord has never failed us. We have all too often failed Him, but He always remains faithful and true!

As we go forth to live our life for Christ, let us determine from the very core of our being that we will trust in the Lord with everything. Hold nothing back and cast all of our cares and concerns on Him because we know that God not only cares for us, He is far bigger than our most troublesome concerns! WE CAN TRUST IN GOD!

Blessings dear hearts walk with God today and become a blessing!

GET READY FOR ETERNITY! – 2 Samuel 12:23 Devotional

2 Samuel 12:23

“But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

I have shared with many people the testimony of a young father that he tearfully gave to a small group of us in our living room as we shared how we had come to receive Jesus as our personal Savior.

He said his spiritual birth was in the waiting room of our local hospital in the middle of the night. His wife was in the delivery room about to deliver her baby. The doctor entered the waiting room and informed Rick that his wife was having a difficult time and it looked as if their baby (a boy) would not live.

Rick said he was all alone pacing back and forth and for the first time he cried to the Lord. He somehow knew that if his baby boy died he would go to be with the Lord and he would never see him. He knew the only way to insure he would ever see his son was to receive Christ into his heart. He did just that!

Shortly after being born again himself, the doctor rushed out with the news that his son had made it and his wife was asking for him. When he told her of his new spiritual birth there was double rejoicing as they cuddled their newborn son.

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!
