Isaiah 11:6

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Last week I received an e-mail message from one of our members. I was going to paraphrase her words, but decided that it is best if you read it for yourselves.

“I have recently started picking up my great niece from preschool on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and then she stays with us until 6:30 pm or whenever one of her parents is able to come and get her. I do this because this young couple has a 3 year old and a 1 year old and the mom works 2 jobs so the dad can go to college. The cost of daycare/preschool is too much for them so I do what I can to help out and my mom, the great grandma does an incredible amount of babysitting to help out as well.

“So I think it was Monday of this week when I picked up Natalie, the 3 year old and we were driving home from preschool, it was raining really hard so I said maybe we should sing ‘rain, rain go away and come again another day’. She sang it through once with me and then said “no, Aunt Kim, I don’t won’t to sing that song cause the rain is good it waters my flowers and plants.”

“What a reminder to me to be thankful for everything God provides. Last weekend, she was at our house riding her bike and I told her it might be one of the last times because summer was going to be over. Instead of being sad, she was happy and said ‘yes, summer will go and then fall- I will splash in the mud puddles and then winter and I will build a snowman.’

“Guess what- when I got her out of the car at my house Monday when it was raining- she was wearing her rain boots and went straight for the puddles. She was happily splashing about in the puddles as I went to let the dog out and he quickly joined her. They were both having such fun. I just paused and watched them having fun in the puddles before I took them both in and dried them off.

“She teaches me so many important life lessons- I wasn’t looking forward to the rain and the darkness but she gave me a whole new perspective.

“What joy she brings to me. Children are one of God’s most wonderful blessings!!”

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!
