Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

I loved Jim Graham. He was a man of faith and integrity. He drove a church bus with devotion and purpose ― it was his ministry and he was as faithful to his task as any minister who stepped into the pulpit. He has gone to be with the Lord, but his dear wife sent me an e-mail in response to one of last week’s E-Votionals. Here is a portion of Sally’s letter:

This is such a blessed story!  I can’t hit the delete button.  It just touched my heart.  It kind of reminds me of back in the 1980’s. Olympia Nazarene Church bought that big Trailways bus.  My husband drove it whenever he was available, but the church needed a driver more than Jim was able to do it.

One morning when we woke up, he said, ‘You are going to think I’m crazy.’  I replied, ‘So what else is new?’  He said, ‘I had a dream and God told me to quit my job and drive the bus full time.’  I said, ‘If you believe God told you to do this, then you had better do it.  God doesn’t like it when we don’t listen to him.’  He said, ‘But it is a job that doesn’t pay anything.  What do we do about living on your income only?’  I said, ‘If God told you to do it, He will provide for us.’

So Jim quit his job, we cut back on a few things, and I got a good promotion almost immediately.  We tithed the same amount as we had when Jim was working and we never missed paying a bill and we never did without the necessities of life.  God blessed us and took care of us.  Jim quit his paid job June 30, 1985 and drove the bus until 1999.”

Wow! That really touches my heart and makes me want to do more than I ever have for the Lord. He will take care of His children when they fully trust Him!

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!
