THE ONLY WAY!

Acts 4:12 – Devotional

Acts 4:12

“There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we may be saved.”

People who have not experienced the new birth in and through Jesus Christ, seek to justify themselves any way possible – – other than coming God’s way. They rely on being more righteous than others, giving expensive gifts or doing acts of benevolence. But that is not what God requires!

If we could picture eternity as a glorious city, there would be only one entrance into our eternal home. People who have not experienced the new birth in and through Jesus Christ, seek to justify themselves any way possible – – other than coming God’s way. I could list numerous acts of personal sacrifice that humans have performed to justify themselves, but I am here to tell you they are all for nothing! It is essential that we examine our qualifications for eternal salvation.

There is only one way to receive eternal life in heaven, and that is by accepting the ultimate price Jesus paid for our salvation. It is His blood and only by His blood that we have eternal life. If you are relying on any other way, you will tragically discover that any other way than the blood of Jesus leads to eternal death. Accept the precious gift of eternal life, it is the only way!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

COUNTING THE COST! – Acts 9:16 Devotional

COUNTING THE COST!

Acts 9:16 – Devotional

Acts 9:16

“I will show him how great things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”

Those who were the persecutors of Christians gave them opportunity to change their minds and recant their belief in Jesus Christ as their Savior. Their challenge was something like this: “Recant or you will die!” Some responded to their persecutors: “Repent or you will die!”

One thing that such persecution did was to weed out the namby-pamby, half-hearted followers of the Lord. When your life was on the line, you made sure that you were really ready to repent.

My great fear is that we have churches full of people who believe about Christ, who believe that He is the Son of God who came to die for our sins. They even go so far as to make a public profession of that statement. The problem is that this is not enough—There must be repentance!

Repentance is turning around and going the other way. In the verses before today’s Scripture, Saul (Paul) had been going to Damascus in order to persecute believers. On the road he was blinded by the presence of the Lord and his life suddenly turned around. Paul knew what was in store for him. He faced suffering and death, but there was a crown of righteousness waiting for him in glory!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

THE WAY OF BALAAM! – 2 Peter 2:15 Devotional

THE WAY OF BALAAM!

2 Peter 2:15 – Devotional

2 Peter 2:15

“They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.”

A certain young man had a fervent desire to serve the Lord. For a time he was completely committed to obeying God’s Word without compromise. Then one day he was tempted to participate in a questionable activity. He knew it was not the right thing to do, but decided to pray about it. As he prayed he sensed that God was saying NO!

The young man waited several days and asked the Lord again and heard the Holy Spirit speak: No! He waited a few more days and again prayed. This time he heard the Holy Spirit whisper: No! Asking the same question a few days later he heard nothing, so he joyfully engaged in an activity that led him away from the Lord and into great heartache.

Mark this down: God does not change! If He says that something is contrary to His Word, will, and way—it will forever remain contrary to His Word, will, and way. It does not matter that some church council will approve sinful activity—if it is not in accordance with God’s Word, it is sin and will always be sin.

Our “do-as-you-feel-like-doing” society has torpedoed far too many believers. We must never allow the appeal of this world’s values to draw us away from God’s best for our life.

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!

FRESH WATER! – Ezekiel 47:9 Devotional

FRESH WATER!

Ezekiel 47:9 – Devotional

Ezekiel 47:9

“And it shall come to pass, that everything shall live.”

The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth. Fed by the Jordan River and other streams, the Dead Sea has no outlet but evaporates rapidly in the desert heat, leaving heavy, caustic, mineral-laden water behind. Fish that flow in with the fresh water, instantly perish. People enjoy floating effortlessly on the surface, but must immediately and thoroughly rinse away the corrosives. Mounds of salt line the shores of the Dead Sea, and a nearby pillar is named for Lot’s wife.

The principles of Ezekiel 47, we now receive by faith later we will witness by sight when Jesus returns. He promised springs of living water to the woman at the well, and to the celebrants in the temple, and “By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive.” (John 7:39)

Each of us is surrounded by Dead Sea people, and—if we are honest—we recognize that we ourselves are much more briny than the fresh water that gives life. Yet we have a better hope that comes by faith. The Lord on His throne is ready to answer even one person’s humble, earnest, faith-filled prayer for revival. “Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail.” (Ezekiel 47:12)

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
