A FRESH VIEW! – Proverbs 29:18 Devotional

A FRESH VIEW!

Proverbs 29:18 – Devotional

Proverbs 29:18

“Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; but happy is the one who obeys the law!”

Assembly line workers frequently become lethargic and even ineffective as they are required to perform the same menial task over and over again. To remedy this situation, some companies have assembly line workers progress through the entire production process. They see not only the completed product, but the vital part each worker plays in getting the product to its successful completion.

Our “eyes” can frequently become clouded and distorted. We see with such limited vision that we fail to see the final completion. God sees the end from the beginning and that is why it is imperative for us to search our Bible to see God’s plans.

There is a portion of the Bible that is frequently neglected — the concordance. It should become a regular practice to go to a concordance (even the one at the rear of our Bible) and find references to key words.

We will discover a fresh vision from God when we become actively involved in searching to find meaning to this life that we are living. Stop focusing on the minute details of your life to the neglect of God’s ultimate plan. Ask the Lord to show you His FRESH VISION for you.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

WATCH YOUR MOUTH! – James 3:10 Devotional

WATCH YOUR MOUTH!

James 3:10 – Devotional

James 3:10

“Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. Dear believers, these things should not be!”

When I was growing up, I sometimes – well actually it was frequently – heard the words uttered that I have used for today’s Daily-E-Votional. Perhaps that is why I observed my parents smile when I had to correct the sassy mouth of one of my own children. What is it they say? – – “What goes around, comes around!”

I wonder how often that same observation can be found in the degree to which our walk matches our talk. When people spend time around us do they discover a walk that matches our talk?

When we are born again, we become renewed and redeemed creatures. The problem is that all too often people fail to live like new creatures. Instead they continue with the habits and language of the past. Like James says in today’s Scripture; “… these things ought not to be so.”

Start today with a new determination to spend more time in God’s Word and seeking His hand to draw you into a closer walk with Him that will give you clean lips that come from a clean heart.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

GOD’S BANNER OF TRUTH! – Psalm 60:4 Devotional

GOD’S BANNER OF TRUTH!

Psalm 60:4 – Devotional

Psalm 60:4

“Fear not for I am with you; do not be depressed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, help you and uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

At the beginning of the Olympic Games there is the parade of nations. A flag identifies a nation and each nation proudly follows the flag bearer who holds high the symbol of that nation.

One of the iconic images from WWII was the placing of the flag on Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima, on February 23, 1945, by six US Marines. Days after the raising of the flag, three of the six were killed in combat.

Jesus left us the task of reaching the world and making disciples of all nations. His flag over us propels us to give our all for His great cause. Some have paid with their life in order to rally around the flag of Christ.

Let me close today with the pledge to the Christian Flag: “I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands; one Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty for all who believe.”

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
