JESUS MAKES US RIGHT! – Romans 5:19 Devotional

JESUS MAKES US RIGHT!

Romans 5:19 – Devotional

Romans 5:19

“For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.”

This week we have a special new song for you created by Russ Hansen entitled, “Jesus Makes Us Right.” He’d appreciate your feedback on this song–please send it to him at inspiration@thegoodbookcompany.com.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Jesus Makes Us Right (inspired by Romans 5:17–19)

[Verse 1]
One man chose the path of sin,
Death and darkness entered in.
Every heart was born that way,
Far from God and led astray.
What was broken, who could mend?
Who could make us whole again?
Then the Father’s perfect plan
Came through God’s own spotless Lamb.

[Pre-Chorus]
Where death had claimed its victory,
Grace was writing history.

[Chorus]
From Adam came the fall,
But Christ has conquered all.
Where sin had brought us death,
His grace has brought us life.
One perfect sacrifice,
One Savior crucified.
Now by faith we’re justified;
Jesus makes us right.

[Verse 2]
One transgression brought the curse,
One obedience broke it first.
Jesus walked the Father’s way,
Gave His life that glorious day.
Now His righteousness is mine,
Not by works, but grace divine.
Through His mercy I am free;
Christ has won the victory.

[Pre-Chorus]
Love has spoken, grace has won;
Life has come through God’s own Son.

[Chorus]
From Adam came the fall,
But Christ has conquered all.
Where sin had brought us death,
His grace has brought us life.
One perfect sacrifice,
One Savior crucified.
Now by faith we’re justified;
Jesus makes us right.

[Bridge]
Death to life.
Condemned to free.
Sinner to redeemed.
Lost to found.
Ashes to hope.
Jesus changed my destiny.

One man’s failure brought the night;
One man’s triumph brought the Light.
One man’s sin condemned us all;
One King’s grace has raised us all.

[Final Chorus]
From Adam came the fall,
But Christ has conquered all.
No longer slaves to sin;
His righteousness lives within.
Now we reign in life by grace,
Standing in our Savior’s place.
Every heart can testify:
Jesus is alive!

[Outro]
From death to life…
From guilt to grace…
From Adam’s fall…
To Christ’s embrace.

Jesus makes us right.
Jesus makes us right.
Jesus makes us right.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Blessings dear hearts! May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

SLEEP MASKS AND EAR PLUGS! – 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

SLEEP MASKS AND EAR PLUGS!

2 Chronicles 7:14-15 – Devotional

2 Chronicles 7:14-15

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.”

I recently received an email advertisement for sleep masks and earplugs. It sounded intriguing especially if you are working night shift. Back in my college days when we had three kids and I was working full-time from 11 o’clock in the evening till 7 o’clock in the morning. Try as she might, Joyce could not always keep the kids silent. A sleep mask and ear plugs might have helped, but it was not to be.

I am sure you realize that there is a strong spiritual application. The majority of people go through life with sleep masks and earplugs to block out anything that has spiritual significance.

The sleep masks and earplugs may often be identified by activities, studies, infatuations, alcohol, drugs, and on and on the list may go. If you have ever spent any amount of time in the company of unsaved people you will hear them mock anything that has to do with eternal values. They often make statements to indicate that they live a good life and that should qualify them for heaven.

According to Scripture we know that is not the case. When we try to tell them they are deaf and blind. But never give up! There may be a brief moment when they are open to hear and believe. Our job is to be ready when they’re open to hear and see.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

IN THE WRONG PLACE! – Numbers 31:8b Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

IN THE WRONG PLACE!

Numbers 31:8b – Devotional

Numbers 31:8b

” . . . they also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.”

We sometimes hear the expression; “He (or she) was in the wrong place at the wrong time.” It implies that the person was doing something that was not what they should have been doing. I think most of us have been there one time or another.

In case your mind has forgotten about this man, Balaam, he was a Midianite whom the enemies of Israel had paid to curse them. God prevented him to curse, but instead he blessed them.

After blessing Israel several times, he supposedly returned to his own country. Beep! Sadly he remained and encouraged the Midianites who had hired him to seduce the people of Israel sexually. Seduction has a long history doesn’t it!

It is vital for the people of God to remain close to God by earnestly seeking Him by prayer and the study of His Word. Remember the words of that old hymn; “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey!” Make sure you are in God’s right place!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE! – Isaiah 40:29-31 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE!

Isaiah 40:29-31 – Devotional

Isaiah 40:29-31

“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Eagles have been my favorite bird longer than I can remember. I am captivated every time I look into the sky and see that majestic bird with the dark body and white head soaring majestically over the earth below.

When I see an eagle in flight, the beauty and grace of his movements are fantastic. Soaring high in the sky, he looks very small and yet he is a very large bird. His talons can crush bones and his beak can tear away huge portions of flesh. But I don’t think of these qualities while I observe him in flight, only his beauty.

The truth of the matter is that an eagle spends a considerable amount of time performing very menial activities. I have observed them via an “eagle cam” sitting on a nest for hours on end, sometimes in snow and ice, to ensure that the eggs are hatched. Then both the mother and the father take turns seeking food to bring to the nest to feed their hungry brood.

When we think of serving the Lord, it is easy to think of the easy times, the times of soaring and feeling the wind beneath our wings. As we consider today’s Scripture, there is another element involved. Spiritually, to soar like an eagle is to patiently wait for the Lord and be prepared to act when He calls. Soar, my friend!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
