COMPLETELY YOURS! – Deuteronomy 6:4-9 Devotional

COMPLETELY YOURS!

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 – Devotional

Deuteronomy 6:4-5

“Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is one. You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Completely Yours (inspired by Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

[Verse 1]
I love You, Lord my God, with all my heart
All my soul, all my strength, every part
You call me to walk in righteous ways
You want my obedience and my praise

To deal justly, to love what’s right
Show mercy, walk in Your light
Even in blessing, when I increase
I will bow low before the King of peace

[Pre-Chorus]
This is the center of Your desire
A heart surrendered, fully Yours

[Chorus]
I am completely Yours, completely Yours
This is the life You’ve called me to live
Every thought, every word, every deed
All that I am is Yours indeed
All my heart, all my soul, all my strength
I give You everything, nothing left
From hidden places to all that’s seen
Lord, I am completely Yours

[Verse 2]
You want my thoughts, my motives true
Every word and all I do
My whole life belongs to You
In every step, in all I pursue

From secret places deep inside
To every moment I can’t hide
You call for all, not just a part
You want to dwell within my heart

[Bridge]
Be the center of my life
Give me courage, lead me right
Be my rest on every side
In You alone I will abide

[Final Chorus]
I am completely Yours, completely Yours
You are the reason that I exist
At the center, reigning in me
I will serve You faithfully
With all my heart, my life is Yours
Lord, I am completely Yours

[Outro]
Completely Yours… completely Yours

Blessings dear hearts! May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

WORDS AND THOUGHTS! – Psalm 19:14 Devotional

WORDS AND THOUGHTS!

Psalm 19:14 – Devotional

Psalm 19:14

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”

Over the years I have made it my practice to end my day by reading from the Book of Psalms. It always reminds me of reading aloud to my eldest daughter as she was in her hospital bed and near the end of her life here on earth.

The sure confidence it gave to both of us was that there was nothing to fear when we come to the end of our days here on earth. It is sad that so many people spend all of their time and effort on things that are of this world and will pass away.

One of my thoughts as I read God’s Word is that our spiritual life has far more importance than the fleeting things of this world. Day after day we encounter people who seem to have an abundance of this worlds goods, but lack the confident assurance that their name is written in God’s Book of Life!

Be sure you have invited Jesus to come into your heart and given you hope that is eternal. Let our words and thoughts focus on what God has prepared for us!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

ALWAYS FORGIVE OTHERS! – Colossians 3:13b Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

ALWAYS FORGIVE OTHERS!

Colossians 3:13b – Devotional

Colossians 3:13b

“Forbear one another, and forgive one another, if anyone has a quarrel against another: even as Christ forgave you, so you do also.”

When we think of having an attitude of forgiveness, sadly it is most often when we feel that the other person deserves to be forgiven. In reality we receive a blessing or are about to receive one and therefore we give thanks. It is for what makes us feel justified and satisfied.

In today’s scripture, Paul rejoices in the report he has received about what God is doing for the Colossians. His rejoicing comes when he receives reports of how God’s people are freely radiating a forgiving spirit for all.

It causes me to stop and consider what my spiritual life lacks. Am I consistently thanking the Lord for the way other believers are growing in the Lord and the work they are doing for Him? I think I need to refocus my prayers to always thank God.

I want to take this opportunity to thank my many faithful readers around the world who have supported this ministry with your prayers and gifts. God has opened doors to reach thousands that need to be encouraged. I covet your continued prayer support and messages of encouragement.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

HIS STRENGTH! – Isaiah 40:29 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

HIS STRENGTH!

Isaiah 40:29 – Devotional

Isaiah 40:29

“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”

I never want to belittle the ordeals that people encounter. Perhaps the worst thing we can say to someone who is going through a “shadow of death” experience is; I know what you are going through. We don’t! It is impossible for us to know what is causing the pain within a person. But the Lord knows!

I vividly recall sitting at the bedside of our daughter as she was dying. Joyce had gone home and it was just Brenda and I in that quiet hospital room. That little girl in a frilly pink dress had now become a mother of three beautiful children, and was just moments from ascending to be with the Lord.

This was no time for me to focus on the loss, but on the joys that awaited her in glory. As I focused upon the glory which awaited her, I almost felt a pang of homesickness for heaven. One of the Scriptures I quoted for Brenda was Psalm 23. Verse 4 was especially precious: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” It was this promise that made her funeral a few days later a celebration of praise.

Some people experience sickness and incapacitation of one sort or another. In those times it is well to consider the way God’s people have suffered across the centuries of time. Some of the greatest songs or poems of praise were penned at times of suffering.

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!

DOUBTERS! – Luke 24:9-11 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

DOUBTERS!

Luke 24:9-11 – Devotional

Luke 24:9-11

“When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.”

According to modern day dramas or musicals, the disciples were ecstatic over the news the women brought back from the empty tomb. They reported that they had seen angels and one had even seen Jesus Himself.

However, the reaction to these reports from these women was doubt. How utterly sorrowful that after all Jesus had told them about what He was going to endure and conquer, they still doubted.

Oh yes, Peter and John left to go to the tomb, but the fact that the others failed to go proves their doubt.

The apostle Thomas was not the only one who expressed doubts. There were other doubters in the crowd.

It reminds me that it is easier to doubt than to rest in the arms of faith.

Jesus repeatedly appeared to the disciples and as many as 500 at one time following His resurrection.

Why did the disciples doubt the initial reports?

I think the basic reason was they did not listen to their Lord as He spoke in person.

Why are we prone to doubt today?

I think it is the same reason. We fail to listen to what He says in His Word, the Bible!

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!
