OUR STRENGTH! – Isaiah 41:10 Devotional

OUR STRENGTH!

Isaiah 41:10 – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Sometimes we find ourselves in frightening situations. This is especially terrifying when we are required to rely on someone else for our safety. It is especially in those times when we must let go and trust God to be with us.

That being the case, what about the times when we are the one who controls what comes next? What about the decisions that we make that determines our welfare as well as the destiny of those around us?

I can recall times when I have travelled on icy roads that I should not have been travelling on. It put my life in danger, but it also placed my family in jeopardy. They should not have had to face that danger.

Spiritually we are always in danger of the enemy of our souls who seeks to cause harm to our reputation. It is in those times when today’s Scripture should be on our mind. We need not fear when God is near.

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!

SOLID SPIRITUAL FOOD! – Hebrews 5:12 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

SOLID SPIRITUAL FOOD!

Hebrews 5:12 – Devotional

Hebrews 5:12

“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

In our “mind’s eye” we may be able to recall the precious moment when one of our children or grandchildren had just tasted their first solid food. It is a milestone in human development that would continue into full adult maturity.

In our family that first taste of solid was always mashed potatoes and gravy. It was almost always the men in the family who performed the sneaky deed. Joyce or my mom would chastise us, but it was always fun and a cherished moment!

It may be humorous to talk about our babies needing their solid food, but all too often many churches have huge congregations of believers who still exist on predigested spiritual food from the pulpit instead of sinking their teeth into something solid by studying their own Bible.

As you honestly evaluate your spiritual life, where do you see yourself? Are you able to dig into the solid meat of God’s word or is it necessary for you to have someone else feed you? It is time for us to grow up and feed on SOLID SPIRITUAL FOOD!

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!

AUTHENTIC LOVE! – Romans 12:9 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

AUTHENTIC LOVE!

Romans 12:9 – Devotional

Romans 12:9

“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

Many people give speeches about love, write poems about love, and create stories about love. So why do we have such a lack of love? I think it is because we fail to properly understand the God-given pattern for love.

What is often defined as love is how it makes ME feel. The emphasis is on our own feelings. It is what makes ME feel warm and fuzzy. It is what makes ME feel nurtured and admired. That, my dear friend, is phony and hypocritical love!

Many of us have heard the humorous anecdote about the suitor who writes a note to his sweetheart professing how deep his love is for her … he would climb the highest mountain for her … he would swim the widest river for her, etc. The arduous suitor concludes his love note by saying that he would see his true love on Saturday … IF it doesn’t rain. Ooops! That is not authentic love.

The writer of Romans defines love as not being selfish or self-seeking. He urges us to abhor what is evil and cling to what is good. When we follow that pattern in our own love relationships, we will begin to discover AUTHENTIC LOVE!

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and show authentic love!
