BE SATISFIED!

Isaiah 55:2 – Devotional

Isaiah 55:2

“Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to Me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

A while back, someone sent me a picture of homeless people in Haiti. Not only had they lost their home and all of their possessions, but some of their loved ones had suffered injuries with no way to treat them. Think of how little it would take to give them satisfaction.

I can recall some of the small houses we lived in when I was a boy. We were very satisfied with a house with good utilities and a roof over our head. As people moved into better and better houses, our family also upgraded our home.

Across the years I have associated with people who possessed the things of this world that they had paid a dear price for in the attempt to find true satisfaction. Do you want to know something? The material things of this world never brought the satisfaction they were seeking ― it never will!

The Lord calls us to dine at His table and find what will satisfy completely. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, which in Hebrew means “House of Bread.” How appropriate that He is the One who satisfies the hungering soul completely.

Here is what Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Be satisfied today!

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!

Matthew 13:31-32

“He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.

James 1:5-6 – Devotional

James 1:5-6

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally, and does criticize him for asking; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed with the wind.

WERE YOU THERE?! – Matthew 27:54 Devotional

WERE YOU THERE?!

Matthew 27:54 – Devotional

Matthew 27:54

“Surely he was the Son of God!

Matthew 27:35-54 reads . . .

When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is Jesus, the king of the Jews.

Two rebels were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!” In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.

From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”

Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”

And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

CONFIDENTLY FOLLOW GOD! – Isaiah 41:10 Devotional

CONFIDENTLY FOLLOW GOD!

Isaiah 41:10 – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not, for I am with you: be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, help you, and uphold with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 is a verse I memorized as a young boy. I cannot begin to tell you how many times across the years this verse has brought me through the tribulations and trials of this old sin-sick world.

In today’s world of GPS (Global Positioning System) technology, there is a voice that gives instructions of where to turn and how far to go, before giving us new directions of where to turn and how far to go. (I have known drivers that turn their GPS off just to silence that irritating voice). I come from a day and age where we learned to read maps.

When I worked as a milk man it was necessary to use a code to tell how many intersections to cross, when to turn left or right and which house was to receive the home delivery. I am a very old man and am not sure they still use that system, or for that matter if they still make home deliveries!

God gives us assurance that His voice will always strengthen, help, and uphold us as we obediently follow His word and His way. All we need to do is to … FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! Do not silence His voice.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
