HIS WONDERFUL WORKS!

Psalm 9:1 – Devotional

Psalm 9:1

“I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart I will tell of all Your wonderful works.

It is fascinating to observe the fans at some sporting event. People who normally are staid and reserved may rant and rave at the ebb and flow of the game. In the process they may be heard to identify with their team and seem to take credit for the victory.

The Psalmist, on the other hand ascribes credit to the Lord for all of the mighty works He performs. It is not the mighty works we do for the Lord that deserve the praise and glory, but the ultimate victory that He gives us.

It is not possible for me to know the victory God has provided for those around me, but I certainly know the great (as well as the small) victories He has provided in spite of my failures.

It is not for us to take credit for the mighty victories the Lord gives us, but we certainly need to look toward heaven and praise Him for His wonderful works rather than our feeble efforts.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
