I AM! – Revelation 19:16 Devotional

I AM!

Revelation 19:16 – Devotional

Revelation 19:16

“On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This Friday we have a special treat for you. Russ Hansen has combined AI and Scripture to produce an original song entitled, “I Am . . .” inspired by Revelation 19:16 and Revelation 3:20. Russ would appreciate your feedback at inspiration@thegoodbookcompany.com.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I Am . . . (Revelation 19:16 and Revelation 3:20)

VERSE 1
I am the Son of God,
I am the Son of Man,
I am the True Vine,
Come and live again.
I am the Way, the Truth, the Life,
Walk with Me and see,
I am the Wonderful Counselor,
Come and follow Me.

CHORUS
I am the Lord of Lords,
I am the King of Kings,
I am the Word made flesh,
Ruler over everything.
I am the Prince of Peace,
Redeemer of the lost,
I am the Resurrection,
I give eternal life.

VERSE 2
I am the Good Shepherd,
Holding every soul,
I am the Lamb of God,
Making sinners whole.
I am the Light of the World,
Darkness fades away,
I am the Alpha and Omega,
First and last always.

CHORUS (REPEAT)
I am the Lord of Lords,
I am the King of Kings,
I am the Word made flesh,
Ruler over everything.
I am the Prince of Peace,
Redeemer of the lost,
I am the Resurrection,
I give eternal life.

VERSE 3
I am the Author and Finisher,
Faith from first to last,
I am the Bread of Life,
Strength that always lasts.
I am the Bright and Morning Star,
Hope that lights the way,
I am the One who guides you,
Every night and day.

BRIDGE — REVELATION PROMISE
Still, I stand at the door and knock,
Listen for My voice.
Open and receive Me,
Let your heart rejoice.
If you open wide to Me,
I will come and stay,
We will sit and dine together,
Love will fill your days.

CHORUS
I am the Lord of Lords,
I am the King of Kings,
I am the Word made flesh,
Ruler over everything.
I am the Prince of Peace,
Redeemer of the lost,
I am the Resurrection,
I give eternal life.

FINAL CHORUS
I am the Lord of Lords,
I am the King of Kings,
I am the Word made flesh,
Ruler over everything.
I am the Prince of Peace,
Redeemer of the lost,
I am the Resurrection,
I give eternal life.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

KEEP ON FIRE FOR THE LORD! – Revelation 3:10 Devotional

KEEP ON FIRE FOR THE LORD!

Revelation 3:10 – Devotional

Revelation 3:10

“Because you have kept My command to hold on, I will also keep you from the hour of trial which will come upon the whole world.”

From time to time I have received advertisements for a heated travel mug. They are advertised for those frosty mornings (or evenings) when you are forced to spend time behind the wheel of your car. You can just plug your cup into your cigarette lighter in order to keep your coffee, tea, or soup piping hot.

Keeping things nice and hot has long been a problem. This is true for beverages, but it is also true in other areas of humanity. My heart breaks when I am contacted by couples who have let the fervent flame of love flicker low- – and even die.

Love is always a choice. Actually it is more than a choice, it is a commitment. True love requires the giving of ourselves as our gift of love. As we do, we receive pleasure from the person who is the object of our love.

It is wrong for us to demand gratification rather than finding ways of giving it selflessly. Examine your spiritual love life. Has it become tepid? Plug into the outlet of God’s grace. Turn up the heat once again and sizzle for Jesus!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

JESUS WINS! – Revelation 22:21 Devotional

JESUS WINS!

Revelation 22:21 – Devotional

Revelation 22:21

“The unmerited favor of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen!”

Today’s Scripture, is my paraphrase of the last verse in the Bible. It always reminds me of the elderly man who challenged a young man just home from Bible College. He told the young man he could sum up the Book of Revelation in two words. When the young challenged him the elderly man said; “JESUS WINS!”

There is much more than that in the Book of Revelation, but it certainly gives us the assurance that Jesus is the ultimate victor! Our struggles and trials here will mean nothing when we leave this old sin-sick world and go to be with the Lord!

There will be many troubles and trials that we may encounter in this life, but all of the agony and suffering will melt away when we see our Savior face to face. It may seem as if we are faced with an impossible obstacle in thus vale of tears, but we must always remember that this world is not our home, we are only passing through!

The next time you feel as if you have come to the end of your endurance, just look up to heaven and remember that – – JESUS WINS!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

HANG ON WITH JOY! – Revelation 2:25 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

HANG ON WITH JOY!

Revelation 2:25 – Devotional

Revelation 2:25

“Hold fast to what you have until I come.”

I fondly recall my days of youth when we all looked forward to snow and slick streets. Motorists dreaded these streets then as they still do in our day and age. One of the reasons the young people loved slick streets was hooky-bobbing. The adults frowned upon the practice, but tolerated the practice since they could recall when they did the same thing when they were young.

There were shrieks of laughter as we slid along the snow-packed streets for as long as possible. The ride generally took us only a block or so. Most motorists seemed to enjoy it as much as we did, but there were a few sour souls who vented their spleen on our fun-filled delight!

As I think on it I realize there are many people in today’s world who seem to take offense when the people of God enjoy the joy of their salvation. They seem to feel that the walk with the Lord should be filled with doom and gloom.

I take delight in breaking the bubble of such an attitude. Across the centuries the people of God have been the most joyous people on earth. Even those who have been persecuted have suffered with joy. Regardless of the trials you are going through right now – – HANG ON WITH JOY!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

SOFTLY AND TENDERLY! – Revelation 3:20 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

SOFTLY AND TENDERLY!

Revelation 3:20 – Devotional

Revelation 3:20

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This beautiful hymn was composed by Will Thompson who lived from 1847 to 1909. The words seem to capture the heart of the listener and draw us to come to Jesus. You can almost picture Jesus Himself standing patiently urging us to come to Him.

He not only pleads for us to come, but he offers complete pardon to anyone and everyone who will come to Him. He has paid the price and He has the authority to extend pardon to any who will come to Him.

The words of this hymn stress the urgent need of those who are lost. Some may feel like they have time before making that decision, but sadly for many they wait too long. Now is the hour of decision to receive Christ’s mercy and pardon!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Softly and Tenderly

Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.

Refrain: Come home, come home.
You who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home.

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading;
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies;
mercies for you and for me?

Refrain: Come home, come home.
You who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home.

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
passing from you and for me.
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
coming for you and for me.

Refrain: Come home, come home.
You who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home.

O, for the wonderful love He has promised,
promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me.

Refrain: Come home, come home.
You who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home.
