THERE MAY YET BE TIME!

Isaiah 55:6 – Devotional

Isaiah 55:6

“Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.”

Across the years I have been in many evangelistic services where an invitation was given for sinners to come forward to receive Christ as their personal Savior. There were many who opened their heart’s door and received Jesus as their Savior.

As we rejoiced at those who said, yes, we were broken hearted by those who dug in their emotional heels and refused to yield to the Holy Spirit’s urging to come to Christ for eternal life.

One of those who refused to respond was my uncle, Harold. On the closing service of a revival he stood with tears flowing down his cheeks as his son and I begged him to go forward and receive Christ as his Lord.

The final chords of the invitation hymn silenced and the benediction was given so helpers could pray with those who knelt at the altar. As I watched my uncle walk out of the building, my heart ached. As far as I know, that was the closest Uncle Harold came to receiving Christ. If you or someone you know has stubbornly refused to say yes to the Lord, keep on keeping on! There may yet be time!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

GOD’S STRENGTH IS ENOUGH! – Isaiah 41:10 Devotional

GOD’S STRENGTH IS ENOUGH!

Isaiah 41:10 – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear not, for I am with you, don’t be depressed, I am your God. I will give you My strength to help you, and will hold you up with My righteous right hand.”

When you feel like you have come to the end of your own endurance, trust in God to sustain you.

You may also want to recall what Paul recalled about his experience in serving the Lord. He recalls that he was: kidnapped (Acts 21:27), beaten (Acts 21:30-31; 23:3), threatened (Acts 22:22; 27:42), arrested many times (Acts 21:33; 22:24, 31; 23:35; 28:16), accused in lawsuits (Acts 21:34; 22:30; 24:1-2; 25:2, 7; 28:4), interrogated (Acts 25:24-27), ridiculed (Acts 26:24), ignored (Acts 27:11), shipwrecked (Acts 27:41).

So how is your day going?!

It is very easy to slip into a pity party for the way we may be treated because we are committed Christians. Can I let you in on a little secret? Many of the things some believers endure are the result of their own actions rather than their walk with the Lord.

As you walk out the door today, make sure you have spent time reading God’s Word and speak with Him as the vital Friend who will be with you in everything you do throughout the day. Just remember that His strength is strong enough for the heaviest load you will have to bear!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US! – Isaiah 41:10 Devotional

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US!

Isaiah 41:10 – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10 was one of the first verses I ever memorized. This Scripture has held me firm and steady through the most frightening situations of life. I am not ashamed to admit that there have been times when I have experienced fear either physically, emotionally, and perhaps even spiritually.

As a police officer, I recall when I was confronted with a life and death situation. A deranged man had already fired two shots at four of us before we were finally able to disarm him without anyone being injured. It was a terrifying situation!

I have felt the emotional fear of losing my two daughters and my precious wife. In these times of loss there is such a helpless feeling of impending separation. But then the reality of God’s provision of eternal life gives peace and assurance.

In times of terror the Holy Spirit brings peace and certainty. It is a joy that the world can never know apart from the assurance God gives. Our treasures (loved ones) are waiting for us. GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

GOD IS IN CONTROL! – Isaiah 41:10 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

GOD IS IN CONTROL!

Isaiah 41:10 – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10

“Do not be afraid, I am with you! Do not be depressed, I am your God! I will give you strength and I will give you help. I will hold you securely in the right hand of My righteousness.”

It is a fact that none of us will go through life without conflicts. We live in a fallen world and the enemy of our soul is a master of deceit. He delights in causing the children of God to become discouraged and defeated in their ministry.

We must always remember that the end for Satan has already been determined. That does not mean he gives up. Oh, no! He delights in shrouding us under a cloud of fear and confusion.

Our answer is not in our own strength; we will never be strong enough. It is not in how much we know; we will never be smart enough. It is not how sincere we are; it is possible to be sincerely wrong.

The answer is in yielding our will to the will of God and resting in the truth of His Word. That requires us to spend more and more time in our Bible and applying the truth of the Word to our walk. Trust in His Word and live a life that will bring you peace that passes all understanding!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

OUR REASON FOR COURAGE! – Isaiah 41:10b Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

OUR REASON FOR COURAGE!

Isaiah 41:10b – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10b

“I will strengthen you, help you, and hold you up with My righteous right hand.”

There are times when we seem to lack strength and power to overcome some of the obstacles in our life. I am at the age where tasks that seemed to require little or no effort, become major tasks. Are you able to relate to that yet? You will!

Over fifty years ago when I was stationed with the US Air Force in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, I used to listen to the radio stations on the Island. They had a unique way of assisting listeners. People would forward messages to the radio station for family and friends in far away communities. I did not know the people involved, but it reminded that we all have needs and we all need others in our life.

Who do we know who needs a call to give encouragement and just to let them know we are thinking of them and praying for them? Our call or letter might be the bright light they need in this sin darkened world!

Our reason for courage to help others is the eternal help Christ has extended to us by His eternal sacrifice. That is news that is worthy to be sent out into a world that needs help and hope today!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
