OUR POWERFUL GOD!

Isaiah 41:10 – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Today’s verse is one of the first I ever memorized. I have leaned on it many times through the years. Come to think of it, my trust in this verse may very well be the reason that I can be more optimistic than pessimistic . . . and it is only the Lord that makes the difference.

God gives us a tremendous assurance in this verse. He promises to strengthen us, to help us, and to uphold us. Do you realize what that promise should mean to each of us in our daily walk? It means that we can claim victory over every situation.

As I study this verse again, I see that our requirement is very minimal. We are not called upon to do great and mighty works. We do not even have to possess super-human abilities.

So what is our part? To not fear and to not be dismayed. The reason our Scripture gives us for not fearing or not being dismayed is that God is with us and He is our own personal God. With such a powerful God in control, we are free to praise Him and give Him the glory even before we see His completed work.

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!

GOD’S PRECIOUS PROMISES! – Isaiah 41:10 Devotional

GOD’S PRECIOUS PROMISES!

Isaiah 41:10 – Devotional

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.

When you reach the age of 90, as I did a few weeks ago, it seems like memories become more and more precious. Rather than wish for the “good ole days!” I look forward to the days of eternity that are beyond description!

As a boy one of the first verses I memorized was Isaiah 41:10. Since the day I first set it to memory, I have claimed it as my very own. In the darkest days of my life I have been comforted by these precious words.

It is impossible for me to know what anyone else is going through at a particular moment, but God knows what each of us is going through. Not only that, He knows what we have already gone through and what lies ahead for us.

I find His precious promises a great comfort knowing I can trust in Him no matter what lies ahead. I choose to trust and rely on God’s precious promises rather than the sinking sand of this sin-filled world!

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!

BE SATISFIED! – Isaiah 55:2 Devotional

BE SATISFIED!

Isaiah 55:2 – Devotional

Isaiah 55:2

“Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to Me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

A while back, someone sent me a picture of homeless people in Haiti. Not only had they lost their home and all of their possessions, but some of their loved ones had suffered injuries with no way to treat them. Think of how little it would take to give them satisfaction.

I can recall some of the small houses we lived in when I was a boy. We were very satisfied with a house with good utilities and a roof over our head. As people moved into better and better houses, our family also upgraded our home.

Across the years I have associated with people who possessed the things of this world that they had paid a dear price for in the attempt to find true satisfaction. Do you want to know something? The material things of this world never brought the satisfaction they were seeking ― it never will!

The Lord calls us to dine at His table and find what will satisfy completely. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, which in Hebrew means “House of Bread.” How appropriate that He is the One who satisfies the hungering soul completely.

Here is what Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Be satisfied today!

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!
