REMEMBER! – Deuteronomy 32:7 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

REMEMBER!

Deuteronomy 32:7 – Devotional

Deuteronomy 32:7

“Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.”

There are mental conditions that slither into a person’s life and gradually, or even rapidly, decrease the cognitive abilities that once were there. Sometimes we hear people crassly remark that someone has lost a cog.

That insensitive statement should never be uttered by a committed follower of Jesus Christ. We should be the most tolerant and accepting of those who may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, when it comes to intelligence.

Jesus revealed a pattern of acceptance that accepted those that most respectable people of His day completely rejected. I fear that we as believers tend to show some form of favoritism to those who are different than we are.

I say thank the Lord we are not all the same. I have enough faults for scores of people and I am sure you have a few faults of your own. Thank the Lord, He does not grade us on our faults but on His shed blood. REMEMBER – we are saved and sanctified by His shed blood!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

OPEN YOUR EARS! – Deuteronomy 32:1 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

OPEN YOUR EARS!

Deuteronomy 32:1 – Devotional

Deuteronomy 32:1

“Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak;
and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.”

In my memory of the days of my youth, I seem to recall my mom or dad (or both) telling me to open my ears. The fact that I could hear them was evidence that I had the sense of hearing, even if I lacked the sense of responding!

There is a difference of simply hearing sounds, as opposed to having the knowledge of what the sounds mean. The wail of a siren can alert a citizen to danger and the same sound can call a first responder to report for duty.

We need to be a spiritual first responder when we hear the tragic news of a lost and dying world that is destined to destruction without the hope that only Christ can give.

We need to recognize that God calls us to accept His call for us to listen to His call for us to take up the task of spreading the Good News that there is eternal life available to those who will accept God’s precious gift! Freely God has given His precious gift and we must share that gift with those around us. Will you open your ears and spread the word?

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

THE RIGHT CHOICE! – Deuteronomy 30:19 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

THE RIGHT CHOICE!

Deuteronomy 30:19 – Devotional

Deuteronomy 30:19

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: choose life, that both you and your seed may live.”

Here is a news flash: YOU CANNOT MAKE DECISIONS FOR PEOPLE! Frequently we parents wish we could somehow make the right decisions for our kids that would keep them free from harm and danger—but we can’t!

Way back in the 1960’s, when I was a Juvenile Probation Officer, I seemingly had the lives and future of these delinquents in my hands. It was an awesome responsibility. Repeatedly I would explain the consequences of their actions only to discover within a short time that they had been arrested yet again.

I have to admit that it would have been easy to give up on these kids, but often I was the only one who was on their side (even if they didn’t know it). I felt that God had placed me in a position to offer them a hope for their future.

Try as hard as I might there came a time when I had done all that was in my power to do. I had to let go and allow them to “sink or swim.” Some failed to swim!! We can do our best for those who God has allowed us to minister to, but there comes a time when we must leave the choice up to them!

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing.
