1 Corinthians 10:13 – Devotional

1 Corinthians 10:13

REDEEMED! – 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 Devotional

REDEEMED!

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Devotional

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

In 1969 the U.S. Embassy in Iran was overpowered and the Americans inside were held hostage for 444 days. They lived in terror for over a year not knowing if they would live to see another day, be it prisoner or free. They were finally redeemed and allowed to go free, but what scars they carried with them into freedom!

Forgetting that particular incident and thinking of our redemption from sin, what is the worth of the human soul? The Lord Jesus paid the price for our redemption, and I am so grateful that we have been set free from the penalty of sin!

The writer of this hymn, Fanny Crosby, was eagerly looking forward to that day when her Redeemer would appear and her blinded eyes would be opened and she would behold the most beautiful sight she could ever imagine—Jesus!

Redeemed

(1) Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child and forever I am.

REFRAIN: Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

(2) Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence,
With me doth continually dwell.

REFRAIN: Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

(3) I think of my blessed Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long:
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.

REFRAIN: Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

(4) I know I shall see in His beauty,
The King in whose law I delight;
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
And giveth me songs in the night.

REFRAIN: Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

(5) I know there’s a crown that is waiting,
In yonder bright mansion for me,
And soon, with the spirits made perfect,
At home with the Lord I shall be.

REFRAIN: Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

STEADFAST! – 1 Corinthians 15:58 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

STEADFAST!

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Devotional

1 Corinthians 15:58

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

You may have heard the expression; “When going gets tough, the tough get going!” Do you think that is true? What about if you are not tough and confess your weakness? That is when we let go and let God be God through us!

Sometimes people fail to act because they feel they are unqualified. The fact of the matter is that many great people are not that different than everyone else. The only difference is that they remained steadfast at their task.

Thomas Edison experimented with over 10,000 substances before discovering the answer in tungsten. A reporter asked him after 9,999 attempts if he was going to go on after so many failures. His response was that he had not had any failures. He only found 9,999 substances that would not do the job.

Steadfast for the Lord does not look at failure in the results we may see. It is in being the faithful servant that keeps on doing the work God calls us to do and leaving the results up to Him. Are you steadfast?

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing!

AS YOU WERE! – 1 Corinthians 7:22 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

AS YOU WERE!

1 Corinthians 7:22 – Devotional

1 Corinthians 7:22

“For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.

God has a calling that is unique for each of us. Remember that we serve a God that knows each sparrow by name and knows how many hairs you have on your head. That applies for what you had when you were young and what remains now. Ouch!

When I was in the military, when a ranking officer entered a room it was called to attention. Everyone immediately stood at attention with their hands rigidly at their side. The officer would then command; AS YOU WERE! Everyone then continued their previous activities.

Even though everyone returns to what they were engaged in, they were under the authority of the superior officer. The ranking officer may or may not be involved with each person, but they were charged with the obligation to serve as directed.

When God received us into His family we became subject to His commands as well as His presence. When He commands AS YOU WERE! It does not give us the freedom to do anything we like. It means we are free to serve Him and to please Him by doing what He wants us to do!

Blessings dear hearts walk with God today and become a blessing!

STRONG TO THE END! – 1 Corinthians 1:8 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

STRONG TO THE END!

1 Corinthians 1:8 – Devotional

1 Corinthians 1:8

“He will keep you strong to the very end in order that you will be free of any blame on the day Jesus Christ comes again.

Years ago I was invited by my brother-in-law to meet him at a ridiculously early hour of the morning to do a run at a local track. We limbered up and set out on our run around the track. I was a little disappointed that our pace was so slow. After a few laps I began to wheeze and gasp for more air. I then realized that this was not a sprint, but a long distance torture session! I failed to return the next day!

Watching long distance runners in athletic competition, reveals that they have spent many hours training their bodies to endure pain and fatigue in order to reach the finish line. They knew what it takes to be STRONG TO THE END!

There is a parallel in the spiritual realm. When a person first becomes a Christian they may be energized to spend time in the study of God’s Word and time alone with Him in prayer. Sadly this all too often becomes less and less a priority and in some cases they sadly fail to meet with the Lord at all.

If you find yourself in that second group, I appeal to you from the depths of my being to return to the thrilling life devotion and service to the Lord. Our time here on earth is limited and we must be – – STRONG TO THE END!

Blessings dear hearts walk with God today and become a blessing!
