A SONG IN MY SOUL! – Colossians 3:16 Devotional

A SONG IN MY SOUL!

Colossians 3:16 – Devotional

A Song in My Soul (inspired by Colossians 3:16) – download mp3

Colossians 3:16

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.“

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This Friday we have a special treat for you. Russ Hansen has combined AI and Colossians 3:16 to produce a new version of the song entitled, “A Song in My Soul.” Russ would appreciate your feedback at inspiration@thegoodbookcompany.com.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

A Song in My Soul (inspired by Colossians 3:16)

[Intro]
A word in my heart, a song in my soul,
Your love is the rhythm that’s making me whole.

[Verse 1]
Let Your word live deep inside me,
Every breath, a melody.
Teaching love in every moment,
Grace unfolding endlessly.
When the night feels heavy on me,
You remind my soul to sing—
And the songs You place within me
Lift my heart on rising wings.

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, let it rise, let it rise in me,
Your truth, Your light, Your melody

[Chorus]
Let the message of Your truth
Be the song I carry through—
With wisdom, with mercy, with joy I will sing,
Giving thanks for everything.
Let my heart be a home for You,
Let my life be a hymn of truth—
Every word, every song that I bring,
Let it glorify my King.

[Post-Chorus]
Word in my heart, pouring over me,
Grace in the dark, singing victory.
Word in my heart, You’re the song I sing,
Jesus, my hope, my everything.

[Verse 2]
In the stillness, You surround me,
Peace that quiets every fear.
Voices join in sacred harmony,
Heaven’s chorus drawing near.
May I share the hope You give me,
Speak with kindness, live with grace—
Till the world can see Your beauty
Shining through this humble place.

[Pre-Chorus Repeat]
Oh, let it rise, let it rise in me,
Your truth, Your light, Your melody.

[Chorus]
Let the message of Your truth
Be the song I carry through—
With wisdom, with mercy, with joy I will sing,
Giving thanks for everything.
Let my heart be a home for You,
Let my life be a hymn of truth—
Every word, every song that I bring,
Let it glorify my King.

[Post-Chorus Repeat]
Word in my heart, pouring over me,
Grace in the dark, singing victory.
Word in my heart, You’re the song I sing,
Jesus, my hope, my everything.

[Bridge]
Teach my heart to overflow,
With psalms and hymns of praise—
A melody of gratitude
For every gift You’ve made.
Let Your Spirit lead the music,
Let Your love be all I seek—
May the songs I sing remind me
Of the strength You give the weak.

[Lift]
Let it overflow, let it overflow,
Every breath a praise that my heart will show.

[Final Chorus]
Let the message of Your truth
Be the song I carry through—
With wisdom, with mercy, with joy I will sing,
Giving thanks for everything.
Let my heart be a home for You,
Let my life be a hymn of truth—
Every word, every song that I bring,
Let it glorify my King.

[Outro]
A word in my heart, forever I’ll sing,
Glory to Jesus, my Savior, my King.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

GOD’S HEART MEDICINE! – Psalm 31:24 Devotional

by | Mar 12, 2026 | Psalm

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

GOD’S HEART MEDICINE!

Psalm 31:24 – Devotional

Psalm 31:24

“Be of good courage and the Lord will strengthen your heart,
everyone who places their hope in the Lord.”

Those of us who have experienced open heart surgery, know the long hours of recovery. I can still visualize the heart patients walking the hospital hallway, clutching pillows to ease the stress on our surgical wound.

We may have looked like the walking wounded, but there was confidence that our surgeons had performed a life-giving act in our behalf. In an even more profound way, the Lord Jesus does heart surgery that prepares our spiritual heart to be strong in our service for Him.

As I walked (slowly crept) down the halls of the surgical floor, I noticed that there was a difference in the way patients reacted. Some seemed to curl up as they walked, while others attempted to stand as erect as possible. My nurses told me those were the ones who healed the soonest. Guess which one I was!

God’s heart medicine is His precious Word. I am alarmed at the way some people fail to take the life-giving medicine that has been provided for our spiritual health and strength. I urge all of us to faithfully take God’s heart medicine!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

GOD’S POWERFUL WORD! – Psalm 33:6 Devotional

by | Mar 11, 2026 | Psalm

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

GOD’S POWERFUL WORD!

Psalm 33:6 – Devotional

Psalm 33:6

“By the Word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.”

We live among a people who are increasingly impressed by power. The stronger the better, where many are concerned. The world that is so impressed with power all too often tends to ignore or belittle the God who by the power of His Word created everything!

God not only created everything that exists by His word, He reveals His power day and night to those of us who will open our spiritual eyes and see all of God’s glory displayed in absolute brilliance.

In the presence of this mighty power is our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ who tenderly gathered little children and social outcasts around Him that He might bless them. To me that truly is God’s glory displayed in human form!

What is your urgent need right now? Not necessarily your want, but your spiritual need to allow you to serve Christ effectively. God is ready to fill each of us with His presence and power to do abundantly above all that we can ask or think. Just come before Him as a small child seeking a father’s love. He is there with His mighty power to touch the seeking soul.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
