Lazarus Come Out! (inspired by John 11:1-44)

[Verse 1]
Mary’s crying in the doorway
Martha’s barely holding on
Four long days inside the graveyard
Now all hope already gone
Friends are whispering, “If He loved him
Why’d He wait so long to come?”
But Jesus walked into the sorrow
Knowing death would soon be done

[Pre-Chorus]
Tears fell down from Heaven’s eyes
Standing where His friend had died

[Chorus]
“Lazarus, come out!”
Hear the tomb shaking now
Chains of death are breaking down
When the Living Word speaks out
“I AM the resurrection and the life”
The stone is rolled away
Anyone believing in His name
Will live again, will rise again

[Verse 2]
Martha said, “Lord, I still trust You
Even now God hears Your prayer”
Jesus answered with a promise
Strong enough for all despair
“I AM the resurrection
And the life for all who believe
Even after death has claimed them
Still they live eternally”

“Do you believe this?” Jesus said
Hope was rising from the dead

[Chorus]
“Lazarus, come out!”
Hear the darkness giving ground
Buried dreams are waking now
When the Savior calls them out
“I AM the resurrection and the life”
No grave can hold eternal light
Everyone who lives in Me by faith
Will never die, no never die

Wrapped in grave clothes, stepping free
A living sign for all to see
The tomb could not keep death’s demand
When resurrection took His stand

And one day every sealed-up grave
Will hear the voice that darkness obeys
The King who stood in Bethany
Still calls the dead to life today

Roll the stone away
Let the people see
What impossible looks like
When God speaks victory

“Lazarus, come out!”
Let the church cry it aloud
Jesus Christ has conquered now
Every fear beneath the ground
“I AM the resurrection and the life”
Forevermore the grave denied
Anyone believing in the Son
Will live forever, death is done

The tomb was full of silence
Till Mercy called his name
And everything changed
When Jesus came
