JUST A SHADOW!
Psalm 144:4 – Devotional
Psalm 144:4
“Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.“
You can stand on a high mountain and view the panorama before you. If you are fortunate, there will be a few clouds and you can see the shadows they cast as they float across the sky.
The shadows have no substance to them, but they can either allow the sun to illuminate the landscape, or block its rays from reaching the ground. For someone who is laboring in the heat of the day, the shadows are a relief from the blistering rays.
There are times in our life when the shadows of adversity seem to be like the clouds that darken the sky. The result can cause us to become depressed and lose the purpose God wants us to fulfill in serving Him.
It is in the shadows of adversity that we need to remind ourselves that the sunlight of God’s love is always shining bright and the clouds will soon pass. Lift up you head dear heart, the sunlight of God’s love is always shining bright, even behind the shadow you are now experiencing!
May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
