HAVE MERCY ON ME! – Mark 10:47 Devotional

HAVE MERCY ON ME!

Mark 10:47 – Devotional

Mark 10:47

“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This Friday we have a special treat for you. Russ Hansen has combined AI and Scripture to produce an original song entitled, “Have Mercy on Me!” based on the account of Jesus healing the blind man Bartimaeus. We trust you enjoy this musical inspiration today. Russ would appreciate your feedback at inspiration@thegoodbookcompany.com.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

HAVE MERCY ON ME!
(Inspired by Mark 10:46–52)

On the road from Jericho, the crowd was pressing in,
Voices all around me, yet my hope within.
I could not see Your face, but I knew You were near,
So I lifted up my voice for all to hear—

Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.
I’m calling out in faith; You’re all I need.
Though I once was blind, now I believe—
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

They told me to be silent, but I cried out even more,
For mercy’s what I’m longing for, that’s what I’m reaching toward.
Then I heard You calling, “What do you want from Me?”
“Lord, I want to see… I want to see.”

Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.
I’m calling out in faith; You’re all I need.
Though I once was blind, now I believe—
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

Faith made me whole, You opened my eyes,
Now I’ll follow You, Lord, all my life.
Your mercy found me, grace set me free—
I’ll never stop singing, “Have mercy on me!”

Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.
You gave me sight, You gave me peace.
Now I walk in light, and forever I’ll sing—
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

Have mercy on me!
Have mercy on me!
Have mercy on me!

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

A RIGHTEOUS PRAYER! – 1 Chronicles 4:10 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

A RIGHTEOUS PRAYER!

1 Chronicles 4:10 – Devotional

1 Chronicles 4:10

“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.”

Working for the Lord has never been easy. When God enlarges our territory of service we need more and more of His strength. It is impossible to really do His work without His blessing and power.

Jabez asked the Lord to enlarge his territory. His prayer was not to be sent to some other territory, but that his sphere of influence would be multiplied. The Lord heard that sincere prayer and so will He hear our honest prayer.

It is not what we do for the Lord that makes the difference, but what the Lord does in and through us. John the Baptist was a powerful preacher of truth who called sinners to repent, but his real mission was to announce the arrival of Messiah!

Two thoughts I would like to share from my experiences: Never look at others as being insignificant. Let them know they are not alone. Realize that nothing is insignificant to the Lord. Charge into the task He has given you and allow Him to slay the giants that stand in the way of the work of the Lord.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

SOWING AND REAPING! – Galatians 6:7 Devotional

SOWING AND REAPING!

Galatians 6:7 – Devotional

Galatians 6:7

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

Mike and Suzette Keller have a prison ministry in Florida. When they go to a prison they never know who they will have the opportunity to minister to on that particular day. Sometimes it is just two or three and at other times almost 100 will show up for their Bible study.

Mike begins each visit by asking the question; “If you think you can be good enough to get to heaven raise your hand?” Most of those attending raise their hand. Mike goes on to explain that they have been deceived by such thinking. He then presents the wonderful plan of salvation to the group. Many respond to receive Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.

There is much deception in the world today. The things of the world crowd in to the extent that the things of God are pushed out. That can happen even in the life of a Christian. When the things around us take a higher priority to the things of God we are in trouble.

It is time for an evaluation of our life. In what ways do you feel like the enemy of our souls deceives us? It is time to allow the Lord to be in control of our life.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL! – James 3:13 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL!

James 3:13 – Devotional

James 3:13

“Let the one who is wise and understanding among you demonstrate it by good conduct accomplished with meekness and wisdom.”

In the military there are medals awarded for a variety of reasons. If you were to observe the dress uniform of a seasoned veteran, you would see row after row of medals for various accomplishments. One of these medals is the Good Conduct Medal. It is awarded to all who stay out of trouble for an entire year. Yeah!

I know it is no big deal, but for many that first medal was one of the first positive affirmations they had ever received. Let’s face it; the world tends to be harsh and unfeeling leaving many feeling like outsiders.

The Lord has given those who have trusted Him for salvation the most glorious good conduct medal. It is not because of what we have done or will do for Him, but what He has provided for us. Salvation, full and free!

The eternal salvation which we have in Christ is offered freely to us, but it cost Jesus His sinless life. He who knew no sin took upon Himself our sin and paid the price that we may receive His GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL! Be sure to wear it with honor!

Blessings dear hearts walk with God today and become a blessing!
