OUR REDEEMER LIVES!

Job 19:26 – Devotional

Job 19:26

“I know that my Redeemer lives and that in the Last Day He shall stand upon the earth.”

I can recall a song by Alan Jackson that we used to sing. It went something like this: “I serve a risen Savior He’s in the world today! I know that He is living, no matter what men may say!”

I am reminded that each of us has a choice to make. We either accept the claims of the gospel and receive eternal life, or deny the good news of the Gospel and face an eternity of agony and separation. To me that is a “no brainer” but there are many who choose to reject Christ as their Savior.

I once was witnessing to a man who flagrantly said he did not want to go to heaven because he wanted to be having a party with all of his friends in hell. It make me shudder then and still does today.

If ever there will be a lonely place, it will be hell. Multitudes will be there but it is a place of utter aloneness and agony. A single drop of water will seem to be the most precious commodity, but it will be denied. The choice to reject Jesus Christ as our personal Savior comes with a tragic cost. OUR REDEEMER LIVES! Choose Him while the door is open!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

THE RIGHT GATE! – Matthew 7:13 Devotional

Hear Pastor Cecil read today's Evotional

THE RIGHT GATE!

Matthew 7:13 – Devotional

Matthew 7:13

“Enter by the narrow gate; but wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and most people enter that gate.”

It is imperative for us to rely upon the infallible Word of God to give us a reality check. There is so much garbage in today’s media that it is often hard to breathe. The most important reality check is that everyone is on the way to an eternal destination. It makes a critical difference as to our destination.

First and foremost we need to understand that we are offered a heaven to gain and a hell to avoid! There are many people who discount the harsh reality of hell. The fact of the matter is that Jesus spoke clearly about the reality of that place of eternal pain and suffering. All that is required to go there is to do nothing.

Jesus came into the world to offer a glorious alternative to the eternal flames of hell. He suffered and died for us to give us an eternal home that is beyond our wildest imagination. The requirement is to be born again and have our name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

We do not gain access to heaven by trying to be good, but by being covered by the blood of Jesus. He came to shed his blood to cover our sinful nature. I beg you not to take the broad and easy way that leads to eternal damnation, but choose God’s way that leads to life beyond imagination. Take the right gate!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

ALWAYS FAITHFUL! – Hebrews 13:8 Devotional

ALWAYS FAITHFUL!

Hebrews 13:8 – Devotional

Hebrews 13:8

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

I hate to say it, but the promises of some people are like a hot air balloon. When the flame dies down the balloon loses lift and sinks to the ground. If this is intentional on the part of the balloonist it is good. If it is not intentional and very unexpected it can be catastrophic!

We live in a world of uncertainty! The promises that some people make are very much like a hot air balloon – – filled with nothing but hot air! That may sound harsh and judgmental, but when we live our life committed to Christ we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and not just a lot of hot air!

The words of our mouth and the actions of our life must match in order for us to be counted upon by the Lord. Any time we say one thing and do another we prove that there is a hole in our balloon.

As we make an examination of our life I pray that we will increasingly allow the Lord to fill us and allow us to rise nearer and nearer to Him each passing day! We may not have all of the answers, and in fact have more questions than answers, but in these last days we need to be always faithful!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
