WALK WITH THE LORD!

Colossians 2:6 – Devotional

Colossians 2:6

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him.

God’s plan for us following our salvation is to be more like Him in our behavior. We are to live and behave by God’s grace and our faith by believing and receiving His provision of eternal salvation. We are saved by trusting in Him alone.

When we place our trust in the completed work of Jesus Christ we begin our walk as new believers. It is at this point that much confusion exists. All too often we are led to believe that we are kept by our works. We can no more be kept by our good works than we can be saved by our good works.

Notice in today’s Scripture that Paul writes that just as we received Jesus Christ, we are to walk with Him by grace and through faith. In order to be strong and productive believers we need to live in victory. We do that be constantly walking by faith as God’s own dear children.

As adoptive children of the God of the universe we have received a new name and a new identity. There is nothing we can do that will keep us saved any more than we could do anything to deserve it in the first place. We simply walk with assurance as His dear children.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

WONDERFULLY MADE! – Psalm 139:14 Devotional

WONDERFULLY MADE!

Psalm 139:14 – Devotional

Psalm 139:14

“I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

From time to time I notice that the makers of a particular product proudly boast that they are the makers of that product. In essence they are proclaiming that they stand behind what they are selling.

We also can rightly be certain that the words of God as found in our Holy Bible are true and righteous. Our precious Savior, Jesus Christ came into this lost world and shed His precious blood in order for us to be made in His image. Wow!

The certainty of our eternal salvation should propel us to go into this sin-sick world with the news that we can be WONDERFULLY MADE! Praise the Lord for that.

If you have never received Jesus as your personal Savior, just ask Him to come into your heart. Receive Him in childlike faith and then thank Him for giving you eternal life! As my daughter once said; “Say your prayer and I will see you in heaven!”

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

MY REFUGE & FORTRESS! – 1 Chronicles 4:10 Devotional

MY REFUGE & FORTRESS!

1 Chronicles 4:10 – Devotional

1 Chronicles 4:10

“I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Each time I read this verse, it seems that a new insight grabs my attention. Actually, there are two words that capture my interest: “refuge” and “fortress.”

In the past few years there have been television programs that follow as a lone individual who is dropped into a remote area of the globe and left to survive on their own resources for one week. They are not provided food or water and must make their way on what can be gleaned from the land in which they have been thrust.

Water is the first essential to be obtained, closely followed by starting a fire and preparing a shelter to protect from the elements. It is surprising how ingenious these they become in erecting a shelter from the rain, cold, or in some desert areas, the sun. While these make-shift covers may be a place to pause, they are not a place to dwell and rest.

It is tragic that many people go through this life erecting “shelters” that they hope will satisfy. Some of these may even cost millions of dollars, but like every other thing in this world, they are destined to pass away.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
