Today’s video, “Carol of the Bells,” is a fun video to say, “Merry Christmas!” in a special way to all of you. It features the Bandstand Bears and cold winter snow video shots along with this amazing musical rendition by Jerry Nelson.

“Carol of the Bells” is a popular Christmas carol, with music by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914 and lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky. The song is based on the Ukrainian folk chant “Shchedryk”.

Hark how the bells,
sweet silver bells,
all seem to say,
throw cares away

Christmas is here,
bringing good cheer,
to young and old,
meek and the bold.

that is their song
with joyful ring

One seems to hear
words of good cheer
from everywhere
filling the air.

Oh how they pound,
raising the sound,
o’er hill and dale,
telling their tale.

Gaily they ring
while people sing
songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.

On on they send,
on without end,
their joyful tone
to every home.
Ding dong ding… dong!
