WHAT A FRIEND!

John 15:15 – Devotional

John 15:15

“I have called you friends.”

This week we have a special new song for you created by Russ Hansen entitled, “What a Friend.” He’d appreciate your feedback on this song–please send it to him at inspiration@thegoodbookcompany.com.

“Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts” (Colossians 3:16, emphasis added) and “Sing a new song to the Lord!” (Psalm 96:1).

What a Friend (inspired by John 15:15)

[Verse 1]
Friend of sinners—Jesus, my soul’s true lover
When others fail, He stands like no other
Though foes may rise and trials surround
My Savior lifts me, makes me sound

[Chorus]
Hallelujah! What a friend!
Hallelujah! Savior without end!
Keeping, loving, helping, saving
Ever near me, never leaving

[Verse 2]
In my weakness, He is strength unshaken
When I’m tested, tired, or mistaken
I hide in Him when I am worn
And through His power, I’m reborn

[Chorus]
Hallelujah! What a friend!
Hallelujah! Savior without end!
Keeping, loving, helping, saving
Ever near me, never leaving

[Verse 3]
When the sorrow floods my soul
And waves of grief begin to roll
Still He meets me in the pain
Brings me comfort once again

[Chorus]
Hallelujah! What a friend!
Hallelujah! Savior without end!
Keeping, loving, helping, saving
Ever near me, never leaving

[Verse 4]
Now I take Him as my own
More than all I’ve ever known
Grace and mercy freely mine
I am His and He is mine

[Chorus]
Hallelujah! What a friend!
Hallelujah! Savior without end!
Keeping, loving, helping, saving
Ever near me, never leaving

[Final Chorus]
Hallelujah! What a friend!
Hallelujah! Savior without end!
Keeping, loving, helping, saving
Ever near me, never leaving

Blessings dear hearts! May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
