TURN UP YOUR LIGHT!

Matthew 5:14 – Devotional

Matthew 5:14

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”

I have several flashlights that have three settings; off (no light), on (normal light), bright (brightest setting). Our cars also have headlights with settings for bright or dim illumination.

In a similar fashion our lives project an illumination. I am sure that all of us have encountered people who brighten the room with their presence and those who seem to dim the light by their countenance. Which are you?

That is a personal question and one that we should take seriously. We often deceive ourselves into thinking that others see us as a bright shining sky when they actuality they observe thunder clouds. Oops!

As Christians we need to be the most radiant examples of Jesus burning brightly in our dark world. Consider the words of Matthew 5:16; “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” TURN UP YOUR LIGHT!

Blessings dear hearts! Walk with God today and be a blessing.
