Matthew 7:12
“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”
We live in an increasingly thoughtless world. In the past week I have observed two people in shopping markets that stopped with their carts in the middle of the aisle as they visited with each other. They had people waiting on both sides, yet when someone asked to pass they acted offended. Go figure!
Please do not get me started on aggressive drivers who act as if they own the road and have no consideration for other drivers. Is it any wonder that insurance rates are so high?
Let’s spiritualize this a little by asking ourselves a few pointed questions. Do you make it a point to know the names of the people where you attend church? Are you sensitive to the feelings of visitors and try to make them feel at ease? Do you drive the way a Christian should drive? Do you go out of your way to help others? Are you living in such a manner that Jesus would be pleased?
Wow! I think I have preached myself under conviction here. The bottom line is that we, as Christians, need to be the most thoughtful and considerate people in our community. Are you?
