SEEK THE GOOD! – Amos 5:14 Devotional

Amos 5:14

“Seek good and not evil, that you may live; so the Lord God of hosts will be with you, as you have spoken.”

As we observe the world in which we live it is clearly evident that things are going from bad to indescribably rotten. Evil is glorified and righteousness is vilified and made to be against what is now acceptable.

What has changed? It is certainly not God’s Word and it most certainly is not God Himself. He is the same – yesterday, today, and forever. It is the same enemy that tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news (as if there could be any worse news that is constantly being distributed), but things are only going to get worse. That is coming from me the consummate optimist. But I am a realist as well.

Rather than being downcast and discouraged, we need to hold our heads up high and praise the Lord that we have the opportunity to live for Him and perhaps even suffer for Him. Remember this world is not our home, we are just passing through!
