{"id":905,"date":"2009-12-03T06:00:05","date_gmt":"2009-12-03T13:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/dailyevotional\/?p=905"},"modified":"2020-02-05T12:10:22","modified_gmt":"2020-02-05T20:10:22","slug":"aroma-or-odor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/aroma-or-odor\/","title":{"rendered":"AROMA OR ODOR!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<strong>2\u00a0Corinthians 2:15-16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #c40000;\">\u201cWe are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Back in the 1940\u2019s our family had just moved from the State of Washington to the State of Idaho. It was a dramatic change from the lush green vegetation along the Columbia River to the dry, and often sagebrush covered, Boise Valley.<\/p>\n<p>One thing that stands out in my mind is gathering onions in the late summer. The farmers in our county grew onions for seeds. They would then dig up the onion bulbs and truck them out and dump them in the desert. You located the free bounty by smell. Onions may have an odor to some people, but to our family they have always had beautiful aroma.<\/p>\n<p>As I started writing this, I had no idea where it would lead me, but now I know. Just as onions may be either an odor or an aroma\u2014depending on one\u2019s point of view\u2014so does our Christian witness.<\/p>\n<p>The important thing for us to carefully consider is how the Lord considers us. Are we a sweet smelling aroma of vibrant life to Him, or an odor of dead flesh?<\/p>\n<p>Blessings dear hearts.
