{"id":7006,"date":"2019-07-22T06:00:34","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T13:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=7006"},"modified":"2019-07-22T14:13:17","modified_gmt":"2019-07-22T21:13:17","slug":"one-step-at-a-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/one-step-at-a-time\/","title":{"rendered":"ONE STEP AT A TIME!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Matthew 14:29-30<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><strong><em>\u201cSo He said,\u00a0\u2018Come.\u2019\u00a0And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.\u00a0But when he saw that the wind\u00a0was\u00a0boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, \u2018Lord, save me!\u2019\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Many people have been critical of the Apostle Peter because he started to sink as he was walking on the water toward Jesus. Let me ask you a few questions: How many other disciples got out of the boat to take a single step? How many people since that day have walked on water (not counting ice)?<\/p>\n<p>What invitation or invitations has the Lord extended to you and me that require getting out of our &#8220;boat of comfort&#8221; in order to walk along beside Him? When we do respond to the Lord\u2019s call, how often do we take our eyes off of Him?<\/p>\n<p>The Lord calls us to come to Him, and as long as we obey and keep our eyes on Him as we walk, all will be well. The moment we take our eyes off of the Lord and focus on the threatening waves around us we will start to sink.<\/p>\n<p>God calls us to simply come to Him and abide with Him\u00a0<strong>one step at a time<\/strong>. The important thing is not the size of the waves around us, but the power of our Savior and Lord who is the Master of all of our storms of life.<\/p>\n<p>Blessings dear hearts.
