{"id":6781,"date":"2019-03-12T06:00:31","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T13:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6781"},"modified":"2019-03-12T10:31:48","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T17:31:48","slug":"ask-with-thanks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/ask-with-thanks\/","title":{"rendered":"ASK WITH THANKS!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Philippians 4:6-7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;\u00a0and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.\u201d<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I was taught to always say\u00a0<em>please<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>thank you<\/em>. Have I always done that?\u00a0 No! To my shame I have at times fallen short of that aim. Even so, my desire is to strive toward the goal of living a life of thanks and praise.<\/p>\n<p>LISTEN!\u00a0 Rejoicing is not an option, but rather an imperative.\u00a0 We are to be a people who rejoice!\u00a0 That means to get a smile on our face.\u00a0 You might have the joy of Jesus down in your heart, but you had better let your face know about it.\u00a0 That is what others will see.<\/p>\n<p>You know what comes to my mind right now?\u00a0 I see the saints of God across the ages who had the joy and rejoicing in their hearts, even during times of deep distress.\u00a0 They rejoiced even as the flames consumed them, or the lions devoured them, or the soldiers of the enemy slew them with the sword.<\/p>\n<p>Were their prayers heard?\u00a0 I believe they were.\u00a0\u00a0I believe they are with all of the departed saints of God right now, experiencing utter joy.\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, and the half has never yet been told!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Blessings dear hearts!\u00a0\u00a0Walk with God today and be a blessing!<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; &#8211; &#8211; Pastor Cecil<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philippians 4:6-7 \u201cBe anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;\u00a0and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.\u201d\u00a0 I was taught to always say\u00a0please\u00a0and\u00a0thank you.
