{"id":6732,"date":"2019-02-11T06:00:32","date_gmt":"2019-02-11T14:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6732"},"modified":"2019-02-11T10:07:02","modified_gmt":"2019-02-11T18:07:02","slug":"pitfall-of-pride","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/pitfall-of-pride\/","title":{"rendered":"PITFALL OF PRIDE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>2 Chronicles 26:16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to\u00a0his\u00a0destruction, for he transgressed against the\u00a0<\/em><em>Lord<\/em><em>\u00a0his God by entering the temple of the\u00a0<\/em><em>Lord<\/em><em>\u00a0to burn incense on the altar of incense.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You may have noticed that many characters in the Bible started out as God\u2019s heroes, but they ended up as zeroes because of their pride. Unfortunately, <strong>Uzziah<\/strong> was also a part of that group.<\/p>\n<p>As long as he sought the Lord, Uzziah was able to subdue his enemies and be God\u2019s man in leading Judah to subdue her enemies. Somewhere along the line he began to think that it was his own ability that brought victory. That is always the beginning of the end for anyone.<\/p>\n<p>Uzziah did not become full of pride until he had become powerful. His success caused him to take his eyes off the Lord and credit himself. Sadly, we will never know all that Uzziah could have accomplished if he had remained dependent upon the Lord.\u00a0\u00a0He blew it!<\/p>\n<p>So what was Uzziah\u2019s sin? He presumed on God\u2019s holiness. What does that mean?
