{"id":673,"date":"2009-09-03T06:00:27","date_gmt":"2009-09-03T13:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/dailyevotional\/?p=673"},"modified":"2009-09-15T10:13:23","modified_gmt":"2009-09-15T17:13:23","slug":"%e2%80%9cgodly-planning%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/%e2%80%9cgodly-planning%e2%80%9d\/","title":{"rendered":"GODLY PLANNING!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Proverbs 16:1-3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #c40000;\">&#8220;To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue.\u00a0 All a man&#8217;s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD.\u00a0 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Look over the three verses that I have cited above.\u00a0 Note that the word <strong>LORD<\/strong> appears in all three verses.\u00a0 I do not feel that is a coincidence.\u00a0 We are not able to adequately plan our life if we do not have the Lord on the throne of our life.\u00a0 We can make all the plans we want, but they will be futile plans without the Lord.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There are two ways to look at planning:\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We can either plan to fail or fail to plan.<\/span>\u00a0 The Lord must fit into our planning process, or we are planning to fail.\u00a0 On the other hand, if we do not prepare adequately for the future, we are failing to plan and that can spell disaster.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Lord is always to be the central focus of our planning process.\u00a0 Each and every day must begin and end with Him.\u00a0 Sometime ago I received an e-mail in the form of a card with little Tweety Bird on it with this prayer:\u00a0 <em>&#8220;I want to thank you Lord, for being close to me so far this day.\u00a0 With your help, I haven&#8217;t been impatient, lost my temper, been grumpy, judgmental or envious of anyone.\u00a0 But I will be getting out of bed in a minute, and I think I&#8217;ll really need your help then! Amen.&#8221;\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now that is what I am talking about.\u00a0 It is in giving ourselves to the Lord while we are still in bed each morning and then walking one step behind Him throughout the day.\u00a0 We will know we are getting into trouble if we are more than one step behind Him, or if we get ahead of Him.<\/p>\n<p>Notice the promise that comes with the second reference to the word <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">plans<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 It says that when we commit whatever we do to the Lord, He will cause our <strong>plans<\/strong> to succeed.\u00a0<strong> STOP!!!<\/strong>\u00a0 That does not mean you are going to get what you want with no strings attached.\u00a0\u00a0 It means that when we sincerely commit our ways the Him, we will have a new plan for our life, and it will be in accordance for what He desires for us.<\/p>\n<p>This is another Proverb designed to bring glory to God and peace, joy, love and contentment to us.\u00a0 The longer I walk in the way, the more I realize I\u00a0can rest in Him without question.\u00a0 Listen&#8211;I have a plan!\u00a0 Why don&#8217;t we meet in eternity and share our experiences of\u00a0victory in Jesus?\u00a0 We have a date!!!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Blessings dear hearts.
