{"id":6522,"date":"2018-10-10T06:00:11","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T13:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6522"},"modified":"2018-10-09T16:59:55","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T23:59:55","slug":"the-right-choice-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/the-right-choice-3\/","title":{"rendered":"THE RIGHT CHOICE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Deuteronomy 30:19<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you,\u00a0that\u00a0I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Moses was in the midst of his \u201cupper desert discourse\u201d\u2014the book of Deuteronomy. He was recounting to the people of all that the Lord had done for them in the days of aimless wandering for the past 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>Think of all of the miracles that the people witnessed in their deliverance from Egypt. You wonder how they could ever turn their back on God. One of the great miracles that we often overlook is the condition of their attire. After forty years walking in the desert sand, neither their sandals nor their clothing had worn out. How long does the life stay in your clothing and shoes?!<\/p>\n<p>Moses challenges the people to accept the life and blessings that the Lord offers. It was a choice that they needed to make\u2014God\u2019s way or the way of death. It seems impossible that they would choose the way that leads to death, but they did.<\/p>\n<p>We are offered the same option. In Christ we have life and blessings. But there are so many who refuse to go God\u2019s way and instead continue along the path that leads to death.
