{"id":6451,"date":"2018-08-27T06:00:49","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T13:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6451"},"modified":"2018-08-26T13:28:45","modified_gmt":"2018-08-26T20:28:45","slug":"all-for-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/all-for-him\/","title":{"rendered":"ALL FOR HIM!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Galatians\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_702771339\">2:20<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the\u00a0life\u00a0which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pride is not ever pretty. When we consider the prayer requests offered, the vast majority seem to be self-centered.\u00a0\u00a0Even the lyrics of spiritual songs and poems focus more upon ourselves rather than upon the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>I recall hearing about a pastor who had delivered a powerful sermon on the danger of pride and the need for his congregation to seek after the same humility which Jesus demonstrated.\u00a0\u00a0After the service he stood at the door greeting people as they left.\u00a0\u00a0One little lady stopped and said, \u201cOh, Pastor, I am so glad you preached that sermon this morning.\u00a0\u00a0I do not have many qualities that I can pride myself on, but humility is one of them.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0He went home shaking his head and muttering to himself.<\/p>\n<p>As Christians we need to modify our definition of self-acceptance. The definition of self-acceptance is to recognize that God has created us with certain unchangeable characteristics that may be used for his honor and glory.
