{"id":6394,"date":"2018-07-19T06:00:22","date_gmt":"2018-07-19T13:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6394"},"modified":"2018-07-18T12:06:07","modified_gmt":"2018-07-18T19:06:07","slug":"pray-with-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/pray-with-faith\/","title":{"rendered":"PRAY WITH FAITH!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Luke 11:1<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>Now it came\u00a0to\u00a0pass, as He was\u00a0praying in a certain place, when He ceased,\u00a0that\u00a0one of His disciples said\u00a0to\u00a0Him, \u2018Lord,\u00a0teach\u00a0us\u00a0to\u00a0pray, as John also taught his disciples.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Over 150 years ago, in the mid 1800&#8217;s, George Mueller operated orphanages supported totally by prayer and God&#8217;s supernatural provision. He was a man of great faith who lived in Bristol, England, and was traveling to Quebec, Canada, for a speaking engagement.<\/p>\n<p>On a\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_328629157\">Wednesday<\/span>\u00a0afternoon, a sea captain was carefully inching his steamer through thick fog off the banks of Newfoundland.\u00a0 The going was slow or at a complete stop.\u00a0 The captain felt someone tap him on the shoulder.\u00a0 As he turned, George Mueller spoke with great conviction,\u00a0 &#8220;Captain, I must be in Quebec by\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_328629158\">Saturday<\/span>!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The captain explained that there was simply no way this could be done.\u00a0 He said, &#8220;Mr. Mueller, do you realize the density of this fog? There is no way we can make it.&#8221; George Mueller replied, &#8220;My eye is not on the density of the fog, but on the living God who controls every circumstance of my life.&#8221;\u00a0 He explained that he had not missed a speaking engagement in 57 years and that by some means the Lord would make a way.<\/p>\n<p>He asked the Captain to go with him to the chartroom to pray.\u00a0 In the chartroom, George Mueller dropped to his knees and prayed a simple but powerful prayer:\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;O Lord, if it is consistent with Thy will, please remove this fog\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_328629159\">in five minutes<\/span>.
