{"id":6332,"date":"2018-06-12T06:00:38","date_gmt":"2018-06-12T13:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6332"},"modified":"2018-06-11T16:23:54","modified_gmt":"2018-06-11T23:23:54","slug":"open-my-eyes-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/open-my-eyes-13\/","title":{"rendered":"OPEN MY EYES!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>2 Kings\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_1859097787\">6:17<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201cAnd Elisha prayed, \u2018Open his eyes,\u00a0Lord, so that he may see.\u2019 Then the\u00a0Lord\u00a0opened the servant\u2019s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The beginning and ending of vision rests with God! That is essential to keep in mind at all times.\u00a0 In fact, God is always with us, even as we experience the death of our original vision.\u00a0 Why is it necessary to experience the death of a vision?\u00a0 So that we may observe that it is the power of God working in and through us, and not what we ourselves are accomplishing.<\/p>\n<p>Elisha saw what his servant could not see. His vision was spiritual and inspired faith. The servant saw only the enemy that spelled defeat and death.\u00a0 Elisha saw that God was in and over all, and that spelled victory and life!\u00a0 What is your vision?\u00a0 Are you looking at the situation or to God who controls all situations?<\/p>\n<p>It is so easy to get focused on a vision or a promise, and get our eyes off of the God who is the giver of visions and promises. It is then that the Lord puts His children to the test, not necessarily to punish, but rather to prove one&#8217;s commitment.\u00a0 It is well to recall the insight of Proverbs 3:11-12:\u00a0<span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em><strong>\u201cMy son, do not despise the Lord&#8217;s discipline and do not resent His rebuke, because the LORD<\/strong><\/em><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #c40000;\">\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #c40000;\">disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The God who brings each of us a vision which is eternal is the eternal God.
