{"id":6328,"date":"2018-06-07T06:00:14","date_gmt":"2018-06-07T13:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6328"},"modified":"2018-06-06T16:48:16","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T23:48:16","slug":"a-woman-of-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/a-woman-of-faith\/","title":{"rendered":"A WOMAN OF FAITH!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>John 3:14-15<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>that whoever believes in Him should not perish but\u00a0<\/em><em>have eternal life.<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When I read the book of Ruth, one of the remarkable things that strikes me is Ruth&#8217;s unshakeable devotion. Coming from Moab, she was an alien to Israel. The Moabites were from a nation founded by the son of an incestuous relationship between Lot and his oldest daughter.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Moabites had also refused to give food and assistance to the people of Israel during their exodus from Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>In spite of these handicaps,\u00a0 Ruth threw herself upon the mercies of God and chose Him as her God. In\u00a0\u00a0Ruth\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_134408058\">1:16<\/span>\u00a0we read these beautiful words she spoke to her mother-in-law, Naomi:\u00a0<span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><strong><em>&#8220;Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.\u00a0 Your people will be my people and your God my God.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The major theme of this wonderful book is the necessity for a kinsman-redeemer. Boaz became the kinsman-redeemer for Ruth, just as Jesus Christ is the Kinsman-Redeemer for all who come to Him.\u00a0 Ruth could not do anything to redeem herself and her mother-in-law. She threw herself upon the mercy of Boaz.
