{"id":6175,"date":"2018-03-15T06:00:13","date_gmt":"2018-03-15T14:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=6175"},"modified":"2018-03-14T18:37:17","modified_gmt":"2018-03-15T02:37:17","slug":"our-thought-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/our-thought-life\/","title":{"rendered":"OUR THOUGHT LIFE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Philippians 4:8<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201cFinally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things\u00a0are\u00a0noble, whatever things\u00a0are\u00a0just, whatever things\u00a0are\u00a0pure, whatever things\u00a0are\u00a0lovely, whatever things\u00a0are\u00a0of good report, if\u00a0there is\u00a0any virtue and if\u00a0there is\u00a0anything praiseworthy\u2014meditate on these things.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Picture with me a serene lake setting. On the far side of the lake is a high mountain peak with patches of snow from the previous winter. The water is glassy smooth with barely a ripple. As you gaze at the water you can see a perfect reflection of the mountain scene \u2014\u00a0a mirror image. The more the water is disturbed, however, the less of the mountain you see.<\/p>\n<p>God wants us to have a relationship with Him that reflects\u00a0<strong><em>His<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0glory. It is not us but Him that matters. The more we are preoccupied with ourselves the less of His image is reflected in us. The more we allow the things of this world to trouble the \u201cwaters of our soul,\u201d the less of Jesus they will see.<\/p>\n<p>In today\u2019s Scripture we have the promise of God\u2019s peace. The assurance that God gives us in this verse is that the things we meditate on determine how we view the world and all that is in it. The path to finding inner peace? Our thought life! A computer term fits well here:\u00a0<strong>GIGO\u00a0<\/strong>(garbage in, garbage out). We need to change that to\u00a0<strong>Glory in, Glory out!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blessings dear hearts.
