{"id":5885,"date":"2017-09-20T06:00:58","date_gmt":"2017-09-20T13:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=5885"},"modified":"2017-09-19T13:29:52","modified_gmt":"2017-09-19T20:29:52","slug":"grace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/grace\/","title":{"rendered":"GRACE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Philippians 3:12<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.<\/em><em>&#8220;<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the second chapter of Joshua we read that the two Israelite spies were saved by the action of\u00a0 a prostitute named Rahab.\u00a0 She not only saved their lives, but gave them valuable inside information.\u00a0 She said that she knew that God had given them the land because the whole land was in fear of the Israelites.\u00a0 She asked that when they conquered the land that she and her family might be spared.<\/p>\n<p>Rahab followed their orders and the Israelites kept their promise to her.\u00a0 In the sixth chapter\u00a0 we read that Joshua sent the same two spies to rescue Rahab and her family.<\/p>\n<p>But the story does not end there, my friends.\u00a0 She was saved, but God had not forgotten her faith. In Hebrews 11:31 she is mentioned along with the faithful of the ages.\u00a0 In James 2:25-26, she is mentioned as one who was considered righteous for what she did. Even more amazing, the first chapter of Matthew lists Rahab in the genealogy of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Now, that brings us to the practical aspects of the forgiveness of sins in our lives.\u00a0 When we confess our sins, we can begin to live as new creatures.\u00a0 It is certainly not God who brings your sins of the past to your mind and causes you turmoil.\u00a0 If it is not the Lord, it is coming from the other side, and that means Satan. It is only by God\u2019s GRACE that we are saved!<\/p>\n<p>Blessings dear hearts.
