Romans 8:16-17a<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/em>The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs\u2014heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ<\/span>.<\/em>\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Earthly kings have a limited domain. They also have a limited time to serve. Our great and glorious King has limitless domain and an eternal reign. When we wrap our minds around that we realize the kingdoms of this world cannot compare.<\/p>\n

It was in the late 1800\u2019s when Harriet Buell had been attending church one Sunday morning, and on her way home she wrote the words of today\u2019s hymn.\u00a0 She sent her poem to the Northern Christian Advocate<\/em> and it was published February 1, 1877.<\/p>\n

It has been sung by many well known gospel artists across the years. The words are a blessed assurance of what we have waiting for us in glory.<\/p>\n

A CHILD OF THE KING<\/em><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 My Father is rich in houses and lands,<\/em>
\nHe holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!<\/em>
\nOf rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold,<\/em>
\nHis coffers are full, He has riches untold.<\/em><\/p>\n

Refrain:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m a child of the King, A child of the King:
\nWith Jesus my Savior, I\u2019m a child of the King.<\/em><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 My Father\u2019s own Son, the Savior of men,<\/em>
\nOnce wandered on earth as the poorest of them;<\/em>
\nBut now He is pleading our pardon on high,<\/em>
\nThat we may be His when He comes by and by.<\/em><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 I once was an outcast stranger on earth,<\/em>
\nA sinner by choice, an alien by birth,<\/em>
\nBut I\u2019ve been adopted, my name\u2019s written down,<\/em>
\nAn heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.<\/em><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 A tent or a cottage, why should I care?<\/em>

\nAll glory to God, I\u2019m a child of the King.<\/em><\/p>\n
