Matthew 28:18-20<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, \u2018<\/em>All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.<\/em> Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,<\/em> teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.\u2019 Amen.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When I was growing up, one of my parents would tell me to go and do something. It may have been to go<\/u><\/strong> to the store, go<\/u> <\/strong>mow the lawn, or go<\/u> <\/strong>do my homework. What it did not mean was to stay<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Somewhere along the line we have concluded that we can do the work of the Lord by having people come to us. We have changed the understanding of the great commission to having people come from all the nations so that we can make disciples of them. But that is not what it says!<\/p>\n

We can go<\/u><\/strong> in many different ways. My wife Joyce had a wonderful ministry of discipleship by sending cards. I often felt she was far more effective than I was. The Holy Spirit would direct her about the card to send, the person to send it to, and the message she was to impart. In her own way Joyce was “going” to make disciples.<\/p>\n

God may be calling you to go<\/u><\/strong> as a missionary, a teacher, a preacher, or some other full-time Christian vocation, but we are all called to make disciples. Ask the Lord to show you how you can fulfill the great commission.<\/p>\n
