{"id":4886,"date":"2016-02-08T06:00:07","date_gmt":"2016-02-08T13:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/daily-e-votional\/?p=4886"},"modified":"2016-02-08T09:10:57","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T16:10:57","slug":"worthy-walker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/worthy-walker\/","title":{"rendered":"WORTHY WALKER!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ephesians 4:1-3<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\">\u201c<em>I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, <sup>\u00a0<\/sup>endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When I was ordained as a minister of the Gospel, I was in a group who had completed years of study and had also held a pastoral position long enough to know what the rigors of the ministry were.<\/p>\n<p>We were challenged that night to walk worthy of our calling. Perhaps we had not experienced the rigors of life long enough to know what that entailed &#8212; the times when we would deal with broken hearts and broken lives &#8212; but what about our own walk with the Lord? Would we be <em>WORTHY WALKERS?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Paul makes it very clear in this letter to the church at Ephesus what it means to be worthy of the calling of the Lord. Listen to the adjectives he uses: LOWLINESS, GENTLENESS, LONGSUFFERING, BEARING WITH ONE ANOTHER, TRYING TO KEEP THE PEACE.<\/p>\n<p>I think it is important for me as well as you to make it a practice to read these verses on a regular basis and see how we measure up.
