{"id":4306,"date":"2015-03-12T06:00:05","date_gmt":"2015-03-12T13:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/dailyevotional\/?p=4306"},"modified":"2015-03-11T13:42:57","modified_gmt":"2015-03-11T20:42:57","slug":"gods-godly-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/gods-godly-people\/","title":{"rendered":"GOD\u2019S GODLY PEOPLE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>2\u00a0Timothy 3:5,7<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span style=\"color: #c40000;\">\u201cHaving a form of godliness but denying its power.\u201d \u201cAlways learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em><strong><em>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It grieves me that there are so many professed believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">tell<\/span><\/strong> more than <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">show<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>the way we are to live out our Christian faith.\u00a0 SORRY!\u00a0 I hate to upset their apple cart, but it should rather be first of all <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Show<\/span> . . .\u00a0<\/strong>then <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tell<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We hear all too much and see so very little.\u00a0 There are those who claim to be godly, and try to\u00a0 appear godly, but the result is that they look like they have just been baptized in vinegar.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, many believe that spiritual depth is measured by educational achievement. Years ago someone said to me that there are so many doctors in the church today you would think God was sick.\u00a0 Some seem to be more concerned with earning titles than practicing their calling.<\/p>\n<p>There is an old book that I read many years ago titled &#8220;In His Steps&#8221; by Charles Sheldon.\u00a0 The theme of the book is to live life with this question in the forefront of our mind: <strong>W<\/strong>hat <strong>W<\/strong>ould <strong>J<\/strong>esus <strong>D<\/strong>o?<\/p>\n<p>It is a call for all of us to be <strong>GOD\u2019S GODLY PEOPLE<\/strong> in the way we live and as we search His Word to find the way He wants us to live.
