{"id":2833,"date":"2012-11-06T06:00:20","date_gmt":"2012-11-06T13:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devonline.us\/dailyevotional\/?p=2833"},"modified":"2012-11-05T12:46:02","modified_gmt":"2012-11-05T19:46:02","slug":"four-steps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyevotional.com\/prior2020\/four-steps\/","title":{"rendered":"FOUR STEPS!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><strong>Psalm 37:3-8<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #c40000;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Trust<\/strong><\/span> in the Lord, and do good; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Delight<\/strong><\/span> yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Commi<\/span>t<\/strong> your way to the Lord,trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Rest<\/strong><\/span> in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;do not fret\u2014it only causes harm.<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">Years ago we lived in Nampa, Idaho, and attended a church pastored by Rev. Earl Lee. It was always a joy to listen to his sermons, especially when he translated phrases from the Murati Bible which he had used as a missionary in India.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In addition to his frequent translations, there was one sermon that has remained in my mind. It was based on this passage from Psalm 37. I hope you notice the words underlined in today\u2019s Scripture: TRUST, DELIGHT, COMMIT, and REST. To use these words as a guide to spiritual discipline is fundamental.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In whom do we trust? The Lord! The moment we stop trusting in the Lord and begin to place our confidence in something or someone else, we are doomed to despair. As we faithfully <em>trust<\/em> in the Lord we begin to <em>delight<\/em> in the exciting life of faith.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">This is possible only when we <em>commit<\/em> ourselves to the Lord and obey Him as we read His Word and obey what it says. The <em>rest<\/em> that is mentioned is not some ho-hum half asleep type of rest. It is giving up the control of our life to His leadership and placing our complete trust in Him. Are you <em>Trusting<\/em>, <em>Delighting<\/em>, <em>Committing<\/em>, and <em>Resting<\/em>? Try it! Your life will never be the same!<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Blessings dear hearts.
