Acts 8:34-35<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSo the eunuch answered Philip and said, \u2018I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?\u2019 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Good news brightens the heart and lifts the spirit. On this \u201cGood News Thursday,\u201d I want to share a glimpse of good news from the Middle East. Kevin is a young U.S. Army officer that has served in several combat areas.<\/p>\n

His present assignment has a very unique twist. Kevin\u2019s mother applied for and was accepted to work at the same location. Mary Ellen is an accomplished pianist and has provided music for worship services for the men. Let me allow Kevin to share a special time he and his men experienced:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we\u2019re standing in this circle of prayer, Alberto is thanking God for His goodness, and there was not a single dry eye.\u00a0 For me it had even more meaning.\u00a0 You see, I was holding Alberto\u2019s hand in my left hand and I was holding the piano player\u2019s hand in my right.\u00a0 The moment washed over me as I realized the unbelievable reality that I was standing in front of the piano and standing behind it was my mom.\u00a0 When Alberto finished praying, I looked up to see our guitar player, Steve, in tears.\u00a0 Mom was in tears.\u00a0 Alberto was in tears.\u00a0 I was in tears.\u00a0 I immediately said, \u201cThis is terrible.\u00a0 We\u2019re all crying.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Then came the laughter.\u00a0 Of course tears are not terrible.\u00a0 As a matter of fact, those tears spoke volumes.\u00a0 God is moving in powerful ways here, my friends.\u00a0 The laughter went to another level when I leaned in to give Alberto a one-armed hug and his head fit snugly under my armpit.\u00a0 But don\u2019t be fooled, what he lacks in stature he certainly makes up for in heart.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

I cannot even begin to convey the joy I have as I treasure every moment of worshipping alongside Mom.\u00a0 The entire Praise Team asked if they could call her \u201cMom.\u201d\u00a0 I told them that she already raised 44 boys, so what\u2019s six more?\u00a0 And she gets a \u201cdaughter\u201d to boot!\u00a0 One of the other civilians here is a backup singer and is elated to have \u201cMom\u201d on the team.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Praise the Lord for good news!<\/p>\n

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!<\/p>\n
