John 16:33
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
It seems that many, if not most, Christians pray to evade tribulation. The problem is that we are told repeatedly in God’s Word that in this sin-sick world we will have tribulation. That is a given fact. Mark it down.
The real issue is what do true believers do when faced with the inevitable storms of life. The answer is that we are to expect them! Let’s face it – – this world is not a pleasant place. Since the fall of mankind in the Garden, we have been storms and tribulation!
I love the way Jesus promises peace to His believers. It is not a peace the necessarily removes us from the storm, but He promises to be with us in the midst of the storms of our life.
What storm or storms are you facing in your life at the present time? Read today’s Scripture once again and rejoice in the wonderful promise that the Lord gives to us as we wait upon Him for our strength to endure victoriously!
Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!
